Personally, I believe Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclammation called for an end to slavery, as well as the reunification of the Union. Moreover, by putting an end to slavery, Lincoln believed it would also put an end to the rebellious States which would result in the reconcilation of the Union. Evidence to support this is when Lincoln states, "...and as a fit and necessary war measure for suppressing said rebellion. This affirms that not only was Lincoln trying to end slavery for good, but ultimately was also trying to reunify the Union by surpressing the rebellion.
