A Place In This World

don`t know what I want, so don`t ask me
Cause I`m still trying to figure it out
Don`t know what`s down this road, I`m just walking
Trying to see through the rain coming down
Even though I`m not the only one
Who feels the way I do

[Chorus:]

I`m alone, on my own, and that`s all I know
I`ll be strong, I`ll be wrong, oh but life goes on
I`m just a girl, trying to find a place in
This world

Got the radio on, my old blue jeans
And I`m wearing my heart on my sleeve
Feeling lucky today, got the sunshine
Could you tell me what more do I need
And tomorrow`s just a mystery, oh yeah
But that`s ok

[Repeat Chorus]

Maybe I`m just a girl on a mission
But I`m ready to fly

[Repeat Chorus]

Back To December

I'm so glad you made time to see me
How's life? Tell me, how's your family?
I haven't seen them in a while

You've been good, busier than ever
We small talk, work and the weather
Your guard is up, and I know why

Because the last time you saw me
Is still burned in the back of your mind
You gave me roses, and I left them there to die

So this is me swallowing my pride
Standing in front of you, saying I'm sorry for that night
And I go back to December all the time

It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you
Wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine
I go back to December, turn around and make it alright
I go back to December all the time

These days, I haven't been sleeping
Staying up, playing back myself leaving
When your birthday passed, and I didn't call

Then I think about summer, all the beautiful times
I watched you laughing from the passenger side
And realized I loved you in the fall

And then the cold came, the dark days
When fear crept into my mind
You gave me all your love, and all I gave you was goodbye

So this is me swallowing my pride
Standing in front of you,

The Science Behind Smile

...Measures of Happiness and the Secret behind Smile In his article, “The Science behind the Smile”, Daniel Gilbert focuses on the various aspects, reasons and measures of happiness. Happiness, as he explains has now become a part of science which was previously studied only by psychologists. Giving it a scientific view, an economist studies happiness to coincide it with the theory of ‘wants’. When he gets to know the ‘wants’, he’ll be able to assume the demand which in turn will also help him in assuming the supply and overall managing of microeconomics and macroeconomics. Then there are neuroscientists studying happiness from a medical attitude, helping themselves to come up with conclusions; but how every discipline measures happiness varies. Happiness might be measured on a rating scale or any modern technology such as electromyography that measures the activity of smile muscles in the face. But I personally think this kind of technology might end up in biased results. Smiling doesn’t always reflect happiness; it might be forcefully done, people might be forced to smile because it is part of their daily work to be gracious and pleasant, so we can’t base our results on one such factor as smile muscles rather there should be more than one factor taken into consideration while measuring happiness. Studies also report how forceful smiling led employees to distress and eventually quitting work. A research paper was published in the Academy of Management Journal, in which...

They believe that the instant possession of lavish and signatured things content them and they could wish no more than having them at hand. But are they really happy? Have beautiful couture, huge houses, expensive cars and mouthwatering delicacies provide them an energy passing through vastly within their system? Factually, wealth does not give happiness. It just gives man the basic services and materialist comfort of life. What money could only give is a momentary and infinite smile of joy but not a spiritual and emotional satisfaction. For some, power and authority outsource happiness. Most of the time, man engaged to political affairs to seek happiness. My Madk

...Smiling. Lighthearted. Life is good. No one would guess that all of this is fake. And do you want to know the thing that I wish most for people to do? I wish that they would see behind the mask. I wish there was someone who can see my true feelings. Who can see the depression in my smile. The anger in my silence. The weakness in my confidence. The frailty in my strength. The need in my independence. I need someone who can not only see these things, but is willing to talk to me about it. Whose willing to not just watch me wilt away and force myself to struggle on my own. I need someone who will tell me that I am not alone. I don't have to fight this by myself. I don't need to hide. But, there is no one like that. Not for me. All that people see is the happy, benevolent girl who always smiles at everyone she sees. I need someone who can see the expertly concealed anguish behind the constant, cheerful mask. I need someone to rip that smile away and show me that I don't have to hide. Yet, I fear for that person to come. I desperately need my mask to stay in place. I can't let people down. I can't let down their expectations. I can't show them that I really am not happy. I can't disappoint them. And so, I desperately wish no one will see behind my mask. It's a paradox. I need someone to see yet I fear for my life if they do see. I wish my mask would burn in...

...Count your age by friends not years Count your life by smile not tears Good morning to one and all present here I S.Soundharya of standard 11-D1 here to speak a few words about happiness smile and laughter. Happiness is not readymade It comes from your own actions You will never be happy if you are searching for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life. Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it has happened Laughter is like changing a baby’s diaper; it solves a problem and makes things more acceptable for a while. Cheer up! A Dentist is the only person who is supposed to look in the mouth. Robert Frost observed, Happiness makes up in heights, For what it lacks in length The worst day that you can have is the day that you have not laughed. The optimist laughs to forget , the pessimist forgets to laugh.the only medicine that needs no prescription, has no unpleasant taste and costs no money is laughter. The smile is curve that you throw at someone and it always results in a hit.your day goes the way the corners of your mouth turns. I believe that every time you smile and even much more so when you laugh, you add something to your life. A smile is a cure that helps us see things straight. It sprinted through the lobby, leg after leg taking two meter strides, its black legs seemingly stretching infinitely into the darkness. The Terror hit the doors full force, but went right through like a ghostly apparition, moving through the door’s glass pane without damaging it. It took to the streets, looking up and down Main Street, which was lit up by dimming yellow street lamps. It began to sprint again, down the right of Main Street, and leaving an inky black trail behind it as it ran. However it’s run for freedom was short lived, and The Terror immediately disappeared in a plume of black smoke as it hit the town’s...

...receiver, and involves listening and responding. Communication is around us every day and having effective communications skills will help a conversation flow properly. Demonstrative communication can be in the form of facial expressions, gestures, body language and posture, eye gaze, blinking of eyes, and lips or mouth. Facial expressions are a big part of nonverbal communication because a lot of information can be given away with a smile or frown. Most facial expressions of happiness, fear, anger, surprise, confusion, excitement, and sadness are the same all over the world. Gestures can be waving and pointing and some gestures might have different meanings all over the world. A clenched fist and indicate somebody is angry, a thumbs up and thumbs down can mean approval or disapproval, the “okay” symbol can mean “okay” in the United States but can mean different things in other countries (Ikeda & Tidwell, n.d.). Crossing the arms can indicate that a person is feeling defensive, self-protective, bored, or closed-off. Crossing the legs can mean dislike or discomfort.
