Assignement 5 Case 15

...Danielle Fikes BUS 499 March 10, 2011 Assignment 5   1.      Describe how successful the business has been at recognizing and satisfying stakeholder interests. The sisters of Harry McNeely and Don McNeely were stock holders and their interests were being completely ignored. Whether you are family or not, if an individual is a stock owner, their voice is to be heard considering they own part of the company that is bringing in income. According to definition, a stockholder is, "one who owns shares of stock in a corporation or mutual fund," (stockholder, 2011). Family or not, there are still legalities that must be honored in this case. It seems that the brothers clearly violated their sisters rights as stockholder. It took unecessary time and heartache in order for the sisters to get anything in the end. This is a situation that could have and should have been resolved very early on. When the compnay was split into two different companies, they did not discuss the issue with the stakeholders. The two brothers just decided to do it themselves and basically figured life would continue on as normal. This is bad business. Stakeholders have a huge say so when it comes to what happens to a business. It is unfair to have people invest money into something and then not be able to say anything when it comes to changes. Assignment 2012

...Major assignement In insight i think i woudn’t have advised kingfisher to accept the order from Denzo gato because, first, the creator of kingfisher knew little about Japan external barriers. In fact, before choosing an entry mode when a company decided to internationalize and kingfisher’s owner forgot to consider the importance of the market size and growth which are still the first key parameters in determing the mode of entry. According to Svend Hollensen (Global marketing, 1998, P 211) the larger the country and the size of its market, and the higher the growth rate, the more likely management will be to commit resources to its development, and to participate in a majority-owned joint venture. On the other hand , small markets may not warrant significant attention or resources. Then, he also forgot the direct and indirect trade barriers problems. In the text it’s said that he knew little about food entry. The choice of the Denzo gato’s company was a good choice, because the company had a very good position on his market ( 2 nd position). It’s not the best choice because it could also be a dangerous competitor for kingfishers. The other problem is the fact tha the owner had underestimated the other choices on non really determinants criteria. According to Root,F.R (Entry strategies for international markets, 1994) , Exporting firms may work through distributors, which are the exclusive representatives of the company and are generally the sole importers of the......

Fibromyalgia

...Fibromyalgia Jamie A Cothran Mod 04 writing assignement   Fibromyalgia: The Pathophysiology Abstract The mystery surrounding fibromyalgia has been long and tedious. At first neurology did not want to claim it saying it was a psychiatric problem, then psychiatric said no the pain of the disease gives you depression and anxiety , and they pushed it off to musculoskeletal system. Where ever it starts, for the patient, the pain is real, it’s their perception. It’s not up to us to judge, but up to us to help ease the pain, and hopefully one day find a cure. But first we must understand how it manifests. With no concrete scientific evidence and only theories to date, we can at least see ways to help ease the pain; therapies to help make the patients more active and have a better quality of life. Fibromyalgia: The Pathophysiology Much debate of Fibromyalgia has existed since the first diagnosis. Some people are lead to believe that it replaced Chronic Pain Syndrome and/or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Did it, we will examine that here. Depending on who you talk to Fibromyalgia exists, Endocrinology says no and Neurology says yes. Who’s right, which is what we will find out? What we do know; “Fibromyalgia is a chronic musculoskeletal syndrome characterized by widespread joint and muscle pain, fatigue, and tender points” (McCance RN & Huether RN, 2010, p. 1606). Management Leadership

...role of Information Technology (IT) in an enterprise, the functions of information systems are changing. It is transforming from a technology provider to a strategic partner and from a resource to a strategic tool. Because of the increasing use and participation of IT in all processes and projects, all the managers, irrespective of their functional areas, need to understand, deploy and effectively manage Information Systems (ISs)/IT. The research on IS has clearly established that in many cases, Information Systems do not meet the business needs for which they were originally intended and thus fail to provide the expected return on investment/ business value. There are several reasons for this failure that include lack of planning; lack of alignment of business and IT, communication gap between the business and IT professionals; lack of effective IT project management and so on. Most organizations tend to delegate the planning process to the IT Department, which in most cases views this as a technical problem rather than a solution to a business need. The key to successful IS Deployment, therefore, is to create a “Business – linked Information Systems Plan”. Accordingly, IS planning forms a key component of this MIS course. The other important issue in the area of MIS is the underlying IT technologies that support Information Systems. Most managers need to take decisions with regard to these technologies. Unfortunately however, most of them do not have......
