Conflict Diagnosis in the News Paper “A Celebrity Life Cut Short” Everyone knew she had a great talent, even with all the controversy over her drug use; Amy had great vocal skills and was an exceptional talent. Here is her story. Amy Winehouse came from a loving and caring family, growing up in a middle-class London family, and attending Silvia Young Theatre School when she was just twelve years old. Amy had dreams of becoming this very famous person who wanted to work onstage and wanted people to hear her beautiful voice so that when anyone listened they would be genuinely happy. Amy has a very soulful voice that captivates an audience wherever she goes. However, her most recent tour did not turn out well because of her constant substance abuse of drugs and alcohol use. According to fans and critics, Amy had a promising future. Although her initial drug use was a problem in many ways her fans overlooked her conceptual behavior. Amy has been struggling with substance abuse for a long time, and it has now monopolized her life. For a few months, she was doing pretty well drug-wise and alcohol-wise until she relapsed just a few months later. Everyone that knew her personally said she was a happy, sentimental person. Unfortunately, drugs and alcohol got the best of her. In the year 2008, she had been hospitalized more than a handful of times, seven to be exact. Because of her raging alcohol and drug use she suffered from several health complications, such as emphysema and dehydration.

Amy also dealt with other health issues during that year, including allergies to medications and breast implant complications. In summary, we conclude that Amy Winehouse could have been the superstar singer we all imagined her to be. However, drug use…...

Higher Education

...the sixth century B.C. Even then they taught skills to live by not thing that a person would not use in his or her life time. Here is a brief history on Higher Education that I found very interesting I hope you do too. “The oldest institutions of higher (college or university) education were started on the island of Cos, Greece, in about the sixth century B.C. These schools primarily taught medicine but also covered topics concerning the nature of humanity and the universe. A group called the Pythagoreans, who were followers of the Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras (c. 580–500 B.C.), started the first schools of higher education in Italy. They taught philosophy and math in Greek. The great Greek philosophers Socrates (470–399 B.C.), Plato (c. 428–348 B.C.), and Aristotle (384–322 B.C.) carried on this tradition. Universities also have a long history in the Arab world. For example, one of the oldest universities in the world is the Alazhar University in Cairo, Egypt, which was founded in about A.D. 970.” As we come back to the twenty first century I discovered that this century has long forgotten what Higher Education is. On September 18, 2009 in Washington a debates over, should everyone go to college? President Obama speech to a joint session of Congress, calling on “every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training. The main reason for it been superior over the Xbox 360 is because the date it was release to the worldwide market. It was the lasts gaming console to come out of the current gen gaming console. Conflict Diagnosis in the Newspaper

...Conflict Diagnosis in the Newspaper COM/470: Mediation and Conflict Resolution University of Phoenix Conflict Diagnosis in the Newspaper Conflict can be found everyday in the news. Whether it be in a newspaper, on the internet, or on the television there is evidence of conflicts all over the media. The resolutions are not always clear and it depends on whether a formal form of mediation is used as to whether or not the public will hear of the resolution that came to pass from the conflict. This paper will take a look at one story found on the internet recently that talks about a conflict and how its resolution came about. The Conflict within the Article According to an article written by Roland Jones entitled, “ US says Apple, publishers conspired to fix prices,” it is alleged that Apple and five major publishers conspired to raise prices of e-books and limit retail price competition. It is thought that the publishers wished to combat Amazon.com’s common practice of selling many new e-books for as low as $9.99 or lower. If the publisher’s stopped competing on pricing then the prices of the e-books would raise automatically making it more profitable for the publisher’s and Apple. The Justice Department’s Antitrust Division decided that a stop should be put to what would have been a monopoly on the market. According to Jones the Justice Department says, “The conspiracy has caused e-book consumers to pay tens of millions of dollars more for e-books than they......

Online Versus Traditional Education

...Online versus Traditional Education COM/170 March 10, 2014 Teresa Purcell Online versus Traditional Education Most people believe that online education is easy. People believe that students are just sitting in front of the computer; they can switch tabs and enjoy social media, listen to music and speak on the phone while attending their class online. Reality is that online education requires time management, discipline, and the same responsibilities that a traditional education does. Online college and traditional classes require that students have excellent time management. Traditional classes allow students to have the freedom of managing their time differently compared to online students. Online schools have more structured time lines as to when participation must be completed. Online schools and traditional schools measure and grade their students participation and commitment. In traditional classrooms students voluntarily participate in class discussions, students are required to participate for a minimum of three times per class period. Traditional students attend class one day a week and manage their time differently compared to online students. Online students also have a minimum requirement of participation per week, and they are required to attend online forum classes for a minimum of three times a week. Online students are required to participate on discussion boards with other students, with a minimum posting participation of eight times a week. Therefore...

Individuals who desire to become a mediator must research the laws of the state they wish to do it in. The purpose of this paper is to research the mediator qualification laws in Texas. The first objective it to determine what the Texas laws for becoming a mediator are and explain them. The next objective is to determine if there is a basic all inclusive license or regulation for all mediators or if there are different laws for the different types of mediators. The third objective is to research the qualification requirements for court mediators in Texas. Analyzing Messages

...Analyzing Messages COM/470 Communicating in the Virtual Workplace April 30, 2010 Recently, I receive an email from one of managers for one of my small businesses about insuring our vehicles. The sender of the email forwarded me information about the company Allstate rates to insure the vehicles. I preferred that we stay with Geico, however the sender disagreed with my choice. We collaborated through the several emails; however we did not achieve much until I sent an email on discussing Geico’s background. I explained that Geico has a total rewards program that aligns with the basic total rewards program that is pay and benefit package, work-life balance, performance and acknowledgment, plus growth career opportunities. This set up was designed and implemented to mirror how the government was operating and that I was intrigued by how the company operated. The way Geico was structured it developed and promoted internally. They used this technique at Geico to develop well knowledgeable employees as well as maintaining a low employee turnover ratio. These principles help develop the company that people see today. With this approach, I was inspired to do business with Geico. Further, I communicated to the sender that when reviewing Geico's rates and comparing it to its competitors. Geico rates were competitive to its competition like State Farm and All State. I further communicated to the sender; the company’s sales team must therefore have knowledge and......
