Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency is a science fiction comedy novel written by Douglas Adams, the author of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The plot is based around the murder of Richard Macduff’s employer, Gordon Way, and the associated events that come along with the investigation. Although it’s set up with a serious event marking the start of the plot, the book is anything but serious.
