Why is it so hard for some people to stay organized?
Growing up, we’ve been told to “be organized.” Whether at home or at school, organization should always be a part of us.
I know a lot of people who struggle with disorganization and my brother is the best example of that. I remember when I was still young, I always saw him coming home after school throwing his bag on the floor and start stripping towards his room leaving his clothes clutter everywhere in our house. There was not a day that I will not hear my mom yelling at my brother for being messy. My mother taught us to clean after our mess, but I don’t know why my brother is still messy even if she told him not to, a thousand times.
He was 20 when he got petitioned by my dad and move

Autobiography

...quadratic formula and George Washington to Barack Obama. My education has improved tremendously. We had about 15 people per classroom and it was more girls than guys I would say. Throughout grade school which being from kindergarten to the fifth grade, we were a diverse school. We had a couple gay guys, a few blacks, a couple Mexicans, and whites. This didn’t really affect me in anyway because I truly believe everyone is created equally. Having people being different didn’t affect my school. School is school, and only you can have a good or bad experience. The grading was on an easy scale which gave a wide range for an A and B and so forth. We had strict rules that basically if you didn’t do your homework you would receive a 0. Teachers had the power to do whatever they wanted with the homework and punishment. When I say punishment I don’t mean out of control, but if you miss taking a test and don’t make it up, you usually get sent to the principal’s office to take it. I had no trouble in the school with anything. I went along the day doing my own thing and minded my own business. In middle school the teachers were very on task. I think that’s because you are getting used to the fact that you’re in middle school for three years and then off to high school. Grading in middle school was way easy. We had A+ and D-, not this A, B, and C stuff. Teachers made school very hard I guess to me. It’s not like you could just go and ask for the answer like in grade school. You had to work,...

Adult Children

...Human beings as a whole have always been driven towards living comfortably. In today’s society, people are more oriented towards living a more comfortable lifestyle than ever before. Since a child requires the proper attention and affection for a healthy development, a family’s living circumstances in North America has become substantially and increasingly more comfortable, at least for the wealthy class. This has caused the transition from childhood to adulthood to become an extended period of adolescence. Individuals have been remaining emotionally and financially dependent on their parents up until their late twenties, and some even longer. Although John Rosemond had said, “the primary purpose of raising a child is to help that child get out of your life and into a life of its own,” it is proven that wealthier parents may create an easier living situation, involving less work for a for a young adult, which causes them to choose to stay living at home for a longer time period. When considering the reasons why an adult would return home after already leaving, or make the decision not to leave in the first place, it is important to recognize factors that have changed throughout history and time. In the past, a functionalist would argue that separation of youth from parents was a practical solution due to high rates of infant mortality and childhood illness; this led to nearly half of the population of children to die before the age of twenty. It was a necessity for parents to...

...without having mastered this critical skill. To succeed in school, you need to learn how to listen actively and take accurate, thorough lecture notes. 3. Poor Time Management Skills. Many college students are overwhelmed with multiple academic and other responsibilities, so learning to manage your time is essential. 4. Last Minute Work. If you write a paper at the last minute, it shows. If you try to do the reading at the last minute for the test that's tomorrow, you're unlikely to do well on the test. While it may be impossible to completely avoid the experience of pulling an all-nighter, do the best you can to keep up with the work on the syllabus. 5. Procrastination. Of course, the issue of last minute work is related to procrastination. Learning to stay focused is a skill, especially with so many distractions like Facebook and video games around campus. 6. Failure to Read Directions. If your instructor hands you a detailed description of how to write an assignment, read the description very carefully and follow directions. If you have any questions, ask the instructor, and if he or she goes over the assignment in class, listen carefully and take notes. It's plenty frustrating to work hard on assignment and receive a low grade because you failed to follow instructions. 7. Over-reliance on Other Students. Asking a friend to take notes for you when you're absent is a risk you should only take when absolutely necessary. And study groups can be an effective way to...

Architecture Design

...Any design in architecture has some communication behind it; even if the architect came up with a drawing without following a particular concept the end product will have an impact on the people who get to see it. Anytime you see a building you tend to relate it with something you have seen or experienced in life, that is what makes buildings remain in our memory for a long time. It is a natural characteristic in any piece of architecture which makes is hard to explain but nonetheless the best gift architects have. There are not many fields that give an opportunity to people to speak out their emotions, their thoughts and even take out their frustration in their work and it is still considered a masterpiece. In architecture there is unlimited space for thought, there is nothing as a bad idea or concept so long as you’re able to communicate it through your drawing. That is what makes architecture special. Most of the best drawings and buildings involve concepts which were derived in the most unfortunate situation and emotions. They speak about events which one would consider very emotional yet they are the one which end up producing the best buildings. That is the main reason that lovers of art end up following in love with architecture, where as some people would fail to get the deeper connection within a piece of art those who take their time to do research in deep about each masterpiece and the reason to why the artist decided to use certain lines or features…you get to travel...

Serial Killers

...Serial Killer Psychology By Anna Davis Criminal psychology refers to the study of the mental and behavioral characteristics of people who break laws established by local, state, national or international governments. Some criminal, or forensic, psychologists focus their research on serial killers -- men and women who murder a large number of people over an extended period of time — typically months or years. What constitutes a serial killer is open to interpretation. In the United States, Congress has defined a serial killer as someone who murders a minimum of three or more people. By definition, a cooling-off period separates the murders, making them appear random or unconnected. The victims — often prostitutes, runaways or other vulnerable populations — rarely know their killer and may serve as a symbol that triggers the attack. In other words, a serial killer's motive tends to be psychological, not material. Understanding what goes on — or gets turned off — in a serial killer's mind is the ultimate goal of scientists who specialize in this area of psychology. You might think the field is relatively new, but it dates back to at least the 19th century, when psychologists tried to develop a profile of the mysterious and elusive Jack the Ripper. Antisocial Personality Disorder vs. Psychopathy Mental health professionals use the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), developed by the American Psychiatric Association, to understand the illnesses...

Introduction

...already knew, but did gain some new insight into myself and why I am the way that I am, and that my personality can be great in some situations and very hard in other situations for people to deal with. I’m going to break it down according to the assignment assessment. 1.) What did the assessments tell me about myself? Attitude? Work? Behavior? Personality? Perception? Attitude: I’m sensible, the backbone of any group, and believe that work comes before play. This is truly me!! I’m the one that goes in early to work and stays late to make sure that things get done, and are done on time. People know that they can depend on me. I’m the person with sticky notes on my desk and computer, so that I remember that I need to do this at a certain time, or remind my boss of a particular appointment. They know they can count on me. Work: I’m a planner, well organized, and dependable. This too, fits me like a shoe! I’m the one that two weeks before a mass mailing will be ordering in extra labels, tape, and updating mailing lists. I like to have my envelopes ready, so that all I have to do is insert and tape. I look ahead and what is coming down the road and plan my work and time accordingly. Behavior: I learned that I’m punctual, responsible, energetic, ambitious, and I have a strong sense of right and wrong. This is me to a T! I hate it when people walk into work late, or show-up for a meeting late. I still believe that people should put in a day’s work...
