A few years ago, I went to the ER due to bleeding and severe cramping. I knew as we were driving there that something was wrong. I knew something was terribly wrong with my little squishy. As we went through the process, I was lying on the examination table and it happened. I had lost my little squishy. I was far enough along to know gender. It was one of the worst things ever. I was told later that I had abnormally high blood glucose, but a relatively normal a1c (average glucose level during certain periods of time that indicates if you are diabetic or not). It turns out I was wasn’t diagnosed for gestational diabetes. It was initially assumed I may have been type 2, but after the loss of squishy my glucose levels returned to normal. I was normal in a sense. This was just days after Thanksgiving. I had a physical in July of 2014 and I was told I was in great shape. However, months later I oddly had symptoms of being a diabetic. I was afraid, but got screened. I was told I was indeed officially a type 2 diabetic.
