The brain child of managed care was adopted in the 1973 to counter the high cost of healthcare provisions. The sole purpose of managed care was to provide effective and quality medical care to patients at reduced cost. It entailed choosing a doctor that would have been responsible in providing the medical facilities to patients with minimal charges since the companies providing such services had a contract with the organization. It was first targeted to provide medication to the timber workers, the miners and the residents residing in the rural who were unable to get affordable healthcare.
The managed care has then been consumed and accepted by the American citizen as well by the providers. It is a common practice that has been promoted across …show more content…
The programs characteristics are different and each has been improved in a way that it is efficient to catering the need and the welfare of the clients. The physicians are also well trained and equipped with suitable and high quality tools based on the services they are scheduled to provide. The manage care healthcare is based on the provision of three programs. The programs are characterized with different and very features that distinguishes each from another. The medical expenses have been relatively reduced and this makes it affordable. The America Medical Association had first inhibited the spread of the program but on the latter years it gladly accepted and promoted even promoted the services provided the managed care. The program also focusses on maintaining and having new clients by lowering the co-payments. The organization incur such cost with the aim of maintaining the enrolled members as well as attracting others into the scheme. They also reduce deductibles among members and overcharge the non-members who have not enrolled into the system in order to cover up.
