Importance of Marketing Research

...Most every organization will benefit from even the most elementary market research. If it does not provide new information, it will confirm what is known. Market research is the process of gaining information about your market. Preferably, this is specific information about your target market and the key factors that influence their buying decisions. Market research can be casual and limited in scope and, although it may not be “statistically significant” research, it can still be valuable. The value and “degree of fit” may be based on the quality, cost, or the amount of time to acquire the information using these practical market research tools.Determine what form of market research is going to work best for you. Make that decision based on the value you will receive, versus the time and other resources you need to invest to gain access to that information. Market research is often confused with an elaborate process conducted by a third party that takes a tremendous amount of time and money. It may be important to take a different perspective on what market research is and how it is conducted. Primary Market Research Primary market research is research that you conduct yourself, rather than information that you find already published. Importance of Food Marketing to Food Firms in Competitive Markets

...Count: 1522 In this essay I will outline the importance of food marketing to food firms in competitive markets. I will also discuss the emerging trends which will influence the development of new products in the future. To begin I will define marketing and explain the impact a good marketing strategy can have on firms. I will discuss what influences consumers when they purchase new products and the integral role market research plays for companies in this regard. Food marketing obviously plays a vital role for companies in competitive markets but in this essay I will show that innovation is equally important for the overall success of a company. Throughout the essay I will use examples of companies who have used very successful marketing strategies and why they were successful, while on the other hand discussing the reasons why other firms failed with their approach to marketing. Marketing is defined as” Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large “. Food marketing therefore is the link that connects food producers to their consumers. Firms have to be careful when choosing their marketing strategy as choosing the wrong target market or the wrong method of marketing will in most cases lead to the failure of the product. Marketing Definition and Importance of Good Ad Campaign

...Most business experts would consider marketing to be a critical function of its operation. The marketing department helps generate the income that the business relies on for survival and growth. The real challenge lies in generating income profitably, by creating happy customers in a socially ethical manner. For this student, marketing is; taking a product, or line of products and showcasing them in the most positive way possible. Marketing makes the product appealing and indispensible in the eyes of the consumer, and if marketed properly the product, line of products, and hopefully itself will be foremost in the front of the customers’ minds. According to the American Marketing Association, which published a definition of marketing in 1985, “Marketing is the process of planning and executing the conception, promotion, distribution, and pricing of ideas; to satisfy objectives both individually and organizationally by using services and goods to create an exchange,” (Wilson & Gilligan, 2005, p.3). In a relative definition, a professor at Michigan State University, E. Jerome McCarthy, states “Marketing is the performance of certain activities, ones that look to achieve the objective of an organization by predicting customers’ or clients’ requirements and guiding a flow of essential compliance from manufacturer, to clients and customers” (Ries & Trout, 2005, p.2). At its very core, marketing is really about tactics and strategies that can be......

Explain the Importance of Internet Marketing to Two Contrasting Businesses.

...Explain the importance of Internet marketing to two contrasting businesses. In 1999, Andy Grove, the chairman of Intel said this: IN FIVE years’ time, says Andy Grove, the chairman of Intel, all companies will be Internet companies, or they won’t be companies at all. Just another example of the arrogance and exaggeration the information-technology industry is notorious for? Yes, in the sense that Mr Grove is as keen as the next chip maker to scare customers into buying his products. No, in the sense that, allowing for a little artistic licence, he is probably right. Journalists obviously doubted him and some even said that “What Mr Grove was really saying was that if in five years’ time a company is not using the Internet to do some or all of these things, it will be destroyed by competitors who are.” but five years on from then perhaps this statement didn’t come true but it certainly rings true in the current year of 2016 where so many businesses have since folded as a result of the rise of the ‘real life to internet’ movement. Internet marketing is important because it aligns with the way consumers make purchasing decisions and nearly every business will benefit from having an internet presence. Reaching customers—and potential customers—using online marketing is more a matter of commitment and strategy than it is a financial expenditure. It does not need to be expensive to reach......
