I wanted to listen to something interesting and informational, so I chose “think entrepreneurship” podcast. It is well design and managed with problems sound clarity and some technical problem, some improvement can be done to make them even better. Maybe I found it interesting because of me being a business major, or because I like to hear stories of different people how they became success, and what kind of hardships they have to go through to achieve their goals.
Think entrepreneurship episode 4
The podcast was 20 minutes long and audience were any one who is interested in entrepreneurship. It served the audience pretty good because interviewer was an entrepreneur and sharing his story of success, which could be very help to people who wants to be an entrepreneur. The content of all of the podcast is to interview different entrepreneurs, so it started well with the interviewer introduction and with some intro music and advertisement. He introduces the entrepreneur who was about to be interviewed.
The one problem I noticed was there was a lot of background noise, kids speaking, typing, mouse clicking, and breathing sound. Moreover I think microphone was placed kind of far from the interviewee, because the sound was not that clear as it should be. I can also hear when they move the microphone. There was a lot of reverb in the podcast. It ended with outro music, but kids noises and speaking in background was almost in whole program. To improve the podcast they could have done is to do it in a quite place, or edit it so they could have removed some of the background noises.
It started same as the episode 4; the sound clarity was much better than the episode 4. There was no background noise and very minimum reverb. I think they would have a small commercial break in the middle with good music. The audience is same as the episode 4. The podcast is 27 minutes long and content is interviewing an entrepreneur, how he became successful? In terms of length it was decent, or they could have stretched it little bit with some more questions and advertisement. I like the quote from it” don’t get married to your idea”. There were little plosives in the podcast.
Episode 2
Overall it was same episode as the last two, I think this interview was on the phone so there were some cut offs In between. It was 26 minutes long, and the audience was same as last two episodes. There were some reverbs in the podcast for examples you can hear the typing and moving of microphone. There were a lot of plosives in the podcast. The tone was enthusiastic to encourage the new entrepreneurs. It was plain and simple I think to make it more appealing they could have added low background music to engage the audience little more.
All three episodes had different stories of entrepreneur s and they were all interesting. Overall all of the episodes were decent, but if they do different outro and intro in each episode would be better. I noticed that if they were doing the interview on phone, if they do onsite interview it would improve the sound clarity immensely. In forthcoming episode they should pay close attention to the reverbs and choose a quite place. All three interviews were flowing well; the answer question process was smooth. The frequency of the podcast is good people wait for new episodes. What make all of these podcasts unique are the stories of successful entrepreneurs. Even though we have to write minimum of 750, but I was not able of think of anything else to write.

...Hello and welcome to my podcast, today I am going to leave last week’s topic of footballers and their ridiculous paid so called “jobs” and talk to you about a strong passion of mine, bullying obviously I don’t mean being a bully is a strong passion of mine but I CANT STAND BULLIES I have done a lot of research into why bullies bully and I found reasons such as “Often a bully will have a low self-esteem or has been a victim of bullying themselves and they are using bullying as a way of making themselves feel more powerful”. I really don’t understand why people feel the need to make people feel inferior to someone else people should be able to express themselves through what they do, how they act and what they wear without the fear of being downgraded by someone else. Have you ever been called "ugly"? Have you ever been called "Fat"? Or even a sideman? Has someone made you feel totally insecure about your appearance?  Everyone in this room has probably been bullied at least once in their life. It’s not the best feeling is it? It makes one feel insecure, humiliated and very uncomfortable. It has the power to destroy lives, mentally and physically.  Studies have shown that 1 out of 6 students are harassed or bullied at least once a week in Australian schools. An alarming fact is that 40% of suicide victims had been bullied at school.  Bullying behavior is no longer confined to the school room or playground but throughout adulthood as well. ‘Bullying behavior can be......

...PODCAST Radio Presenter: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, this is the BBC world service, coming to you on this day the 17th of June 1963. Today is the 10 year anniversary of the uprisings in East Berlin which started with the peaceful demonstration of workers building a memorial to Stalin in Stalinallee. Their protest against the increased work norms, the lack of consumer goods, high price of food and low pension provisions took them to the Trade Union Head Quarters where they were swiftly joined by others. The protest quickly became a political one, but when not a single high ranking SED member came out to reason with the crowd, it moved on to the Haus der Ministerien, where the protesters reported contradictory messages. At first it was conveyed to the crowd that the work norms would be dropped, however the Politburo went on to offer to “reconsider” them. Frustrated, the crowd called for the resignation of the government and an answer to their demands. On the 17th of Jun 1953, between 300, 000 and 372, 000 workers went on strike. Despite this being just 6% of the work force, the impact of the uprising was felt not just in the immediate aftermath, that is to say arrests and such, but also in the psyche of the government. Over to our political commentator with more on the subject. Political Commentator: That’s right, yet the whole uprising seemed in some ways to have the opposite effect to what the protestors were after. Ulbricht’s own position seemed to be......

Podcast #2

...Podcast #2 Is it the job? Is it the work environment? Factors in the work environment play a bigger role in predicting and producing stress and burnout rather than just the individual and the type of person they are. But that doesn’t mean that individuals react to stress in different ways from different work environments. Everybody handles and deals with stress in different ways. For myself, I believe I deal with stress pretty well, but it’s definitely the work environment that affects my stress. When I was in high school I worked first ship at a corporation called Shape Corp. Shape Corp was a corporation that made parts for Chevrolet cars and trucks. The part of the factory that I worked in handled the bumpers for all the cars and trucks on the market. My shift was from 6:30am to 3:30pm. This job was very rewarding because of the paycheck and the time frame. It allowed me to make good money and allowed me to play summer baseball at nights. But this job caused stress in my life that I thought would never occur. This job also caused me to be burned out at the end of the day that it was an absolute struggle to get up each and every day. The type of burnout that is caused in my life was exhaustion. The burnout exhaustion, stated from Early Signs of Burnout with Christina Maslach, is an individual stress response that caused from being overly tired mentally and physically. I was so exhausted from going to work for eight hours, and then going and playing a 9 inning baseball......

Meat: A Podcast Analysis

...“Meat” is a Podcast, which discusses the often-taboo issue of body image. The opening episode focuses on host Jonathan Zenti’s personal experience with body image; specifically his weight. Zenti effectively explains his internal conflict with his weight through implementing often-blunt and uncomfortable anecdotes, as well as relevant audio interjections; and for that reason is most definitely worth listening to. The listener is quickly made aware of Zenti’s unusually candid and comical narrating style through his podcast introduction, which is an audio clip of him attempting to explain the podcast title. Zenti provides narration over the audio clip explaining his frustrations with speaking English. Much like the introduction the rest of...

Dan Pink Podcast

...[Type the company name] | The puzzle of motivation- Dan Pink | Podcast review | | | | | A Summary of the principles, behaviors, or attributes reflected in the podcast The key message from the Dan Pink’s puzzle of motivation is that, in the 21st century, motivation to employees does not work through the extrinsic benefits like financial incentives but through the intrinsic benefits as they are of self interest. He uses an experiment of karl Dunker’s on behavioral science “ The candle problem” to show case his opinion that when financial incentives are given to employees it limits the creativity and they perform worse. The results of the research conducted by the Federal Reserve Bank of the United States and the Economists from LSE also concluded the same. Pink says that there is a mismatch in what science knows and what business does, and many companies are making their policies about the talent and people based on the outdated assumptions. In 21st century motivation is built around the intrinsic benefits and the business operates on “Autonomy” people urge to drive their own lives, “Mastery” people desire to get better at something that is important to them and “Purpose” that is interest in doing something which matters. Pink states that if companies are looking for the engagement, self-direction woks well. Another interesting point is ROWE that is Results Only Work Environment and this concept is developed by 2 American consultants and now adopted by......

Sawyer. The principle subject of their conversation is artificial intelligence and how it will impact society in the future. The first contributing topic is high unemployment. A quote from David Houle, “ 2013 oxford studies show that forty-seven percent of all existing jobs in America will be rendered obsolete or put out of existence by what I call machine learning or automation artificial intelligence”. This means that an abundance of jobs will be given to machinery and robots. Examples of this currently happening would be the automated ordering systems now found in numerous fast food restaurants, self checkouts found in many grocery stores and Walmarts. Automated...

Bad Bank Podcast Analysis

...BFIN 2123 Assignment The banking industry crisis addressed in the “Bad Bank” podcast was primarily a “balance sheet” problem. In its most basic form, the dilemma that was faced and that served as a catalyst of the crisis was the inability of banks to cover their liabilities with their troubled assets. This led to an imbalance in the balance sheet where liabilities (initial capital and deposits) significantly exceeded assets (loans or foreclosed assets at a diminished market value) resulting, in many cases, in insolvency. The problem arose from unjustified lending practices which led to unqualified consumer mortgages that were defaulted upon, leading to the inability of deposits and capital to match the foreclosed assets which had a diminished value compared with that of when the loan was commissioned. Furthermore, the perception of the banks and federal government that the market was nearing a turnaround led to a cyclical worsening of the crisis since balance sheets sustained an inflated market value of the toxic assets as the government was slow to intervene while allowing the banks to continue this inaccurate accounting practice. Federal initiatives such as TARP would only serve to defer the burden from the banks to the taxpayers, thus contributing to the severe financial crisis faced in 2008. The Citibank and hypothetical “dollhouse” examples both demonstrate the aforementioned erroneous balance sheet issues. The former displays how a major player in the banking......

Why Do You Think Jewish Customs Described in the Podcast Are Being Rediscovered

...Criminal Justice 410 Strayer University Plan To Improve Correctional Facilities Professor Douglas Brinkley Donna M. Davis July 30, 2012 Prisons in America face many problems today. One such problem is the amount of elderly inmates. Elderly inmates represent the fastest growing segment of the federal and state prisons. The aging inmate population has created new challenges for the American corrections system. The population of aging and elderly prisoners in the United States prisons exploded over the past three decades, with nearly 125,000 inmates aged 55 or older now behind bars, according to a recent report published by the American Civil Liberties Union. This represents an increase of over 1,300 percent since the early 1980s. (Graying in Prison). Some contributing factors to the increase in elderly inmates are, get tough on crime reforms of the 1980s and 1990s, mandatory minimum sentences, three strikes rules and truth in sentence laws established in recent decades are keeping more offenders in prison for longer periods of time. Inmates are living longer and this also contributes to prison overcrowding. (Elderly Prisoners, 2012). In passing some of these laws, such as the three strikes laws, the courts and the Criminal Justice System did not think about the aging inmates and the problems that go with it. As people age, generally they develop health problems and within the prison system, this is no different. Prisons aren’t geared to the......

...What is the plan for this podcast? -My plan for this podcast is to base it around sports. I’ve decided to base it around sports because sports play a big role in my life. I’m always watching or listening to podcasts that are centered around sports, so I thought it would be easiest to base my podcast off something I’m very familiar with. * Who is your intended audience -My intended target audience is football fans. In order to obtain this target market I will center the podcast around recent scores and headlines in the NFL. * How many people will participate? -For now I’m going to do the podcast by myself but I’m going to try and incorporate my roommate into my next podcast because I know it can become boring listening to the same person over and over. * How long will the podcast be? -The podcast will be as long as the requirement allows, but ideally I liked the podcast to go a minimum of 10 minutes. The reason I’d liked the podcast to be 10 minutes is because I want to have enough time to actually get out all of my main points and feel rushed. * How will you use music to set the tone of your podcast? -I want the music to excite the audience and really build up the tone of the podcast. Maybe begin with X gonna give to ya by DMX * What will the credit music be like? I’m thinking of ending the credits on a funny song, so I will have to do some research on funny songs. In all I think I have the makings for a good podcast, now it’s just time to......

...Web Tools for Distance Education-Podcasting Podcasting Darlene LaBarre University of Capella Podcasting is one of the most recent uses of Internet technology. The term "podcast" is a mixture of the words iPod and broadcast with "iPod" being the name given to a family of portable MP3 players from Apple Inc. "MP3" is a frequent file format for electronic audio files. From an educational perspective the use of podcasts are limitless. Since creating podcasts is fairly easy and inexpensive, instructors can easily use them for delivery of supplemental information or review of previously covered material. Podcasts can also be used for acquiring new and supplemental knowledge from expert sources on the web. Listening to podcasts provides learners with different learning activities in addition to readings and lectures thus reaching a wider audience and supporting a broader range of learning styles. This paper will focus on the questions of what podcasts are, why they are useful in higher education, and, most importantly, how faculty and students can use podcasts to enhance learning experiences. Advocates of podcasting believe that it can offer unique educational benefits to learners. One of the earliest reports describing the potential of podcasting in education was by Clark and Walsh (2004). They highlighted that "listening is instinctual, [but] reading and writing are not" (p. 5) - that linguistic psychologists have found that unlike reading and writing, children do not learn......
