Abstract

How would you effectively present the issue of potentially defective products to the CEO, other directors, and managers?
The way I would present the issue at hand to the CEO, directors and managers will have to be strongly thought about, as it is a very delicate manner. First I need to think about how the management will feel about the current matter, and think up a way to talk to them about it without causing any offense. To me the way to bring up the current issue is all about wording. (Sulkowicz, 2008). Use "I" statements throughout, such as, "I noticed that..." The management needs to know what is going on but they need to be told in a none accusing manner, an example is to use the words "I have come across an issue that needs addressed (present issue), and I also have solutions to help in this matter, Thank you for your time, and I hope you will keep everything mentioned under consideration." With this they are more likely to assist in the matter if they feel they are treated with dignity and respect. The main thing is to not accuse but to simply present the issue and suggest a problem fixer, without making it seem like they cant come up with a fixer themselves.

How would you specifically notify customers of such an occurrence?
The best way to notify cutomers of such a occi\urrence is thru the media and local newspapers to inform everyone of a recall. Another way as to those without tv is to send out emails as well as put it on the company's website. Hopefully this will allow everyone to be aware of the issue, and the items are returned, and the customers that purchased the items will recived from the store a refund or exchange.

What kind of internal actions would you take to prevent future problems?

This makes the job harder and we like to consider ourselves quality employees, so this disturbs the employees that are responsible for taking product off the belt without damaging it. The belief is that if the product is received right it can be stored and thus shipped right, this includes damage as well. So if you receive it damaged of course you are going to have damaged product to ship. If the product is pulled from the pallet before it is received it doesn’t get charged to the company it is charged back to the shipper, so if the process starts right then you have less damages. Order selectors don’t pick damaged product, so it gets picked over and the employee’s that stock the pick location have to take it out and put it in a damaged product location.
