Introduction: Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering (BSECE) is a course that is in-demand to the incoming students in college and college students. This course majors in hardware. But they still study subjects of other course related like Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and others. So, that the knowledge that the student needs to learn is in package. It is called Subfields. BSECE has a purpose to give an additional learning so as to enact the skills of a student to excel to the things related to the technology (finduniversity, 2010). This Course uses electrical component such as semiconductor, electron tubes, transistors and others (Wikipedia, 2010). They use those kinds of tools to make an electronic devices, equipments, appliances and etc. BSECE also study about connection or communication. They want to determine how to make something through a connection, what reaction a connection can produce. This is where the science comes in. One of its products is solar energy. Solar Power is a converted radiant light and heat from the sun to electricity (Wikipedia, n.d). Solar energy is been utilized by humans since ancient time. But as technology revolves, the use of the sun heats also evolves. Solar energy was discovered by Edmund Becquerel (Wiki.answers, n.d.). He was the one who also discovered the Photovoltaic Effect, an operating procedure of the Solar Cell (Wikipedia, n.d.) His work causes numerous products concerning electricity. One of this is the solar charger. Everyone wants to find solution in some of the problems concerning limited resources. One of this is the source of electricity. There are many ways that we can get electricity but the easiest way is to use sunlight. Using gadgets or electronics anywhere is not a problem because users will not be worried about drained battery. And sunlight is not limited so it is not costly. Solar power is the energy that comes from the conversion of sunlight into electricity. It uses either Photovoltaic (PV) or concentrated solar power (CSP). These are the converter devices. The photovoltaic can convert light into electric current using the photoelectric effect (Wikipedia, n.d.) This PV is invented by Charles Fritts in the 1880’s. One of its products was solar chargers. The researchers, students of BSECE, chose “solar powered chargers” to be the issue of this research paper because chargers are in their line of work. So, researchers will find, know and prove or be proved of something concerning the solar powered charger. This research was made in purpose of knowing its benefits and disadvantages. And one of the reason is humans are having a lot of electronic devices that need to be charged. Users charge them through electricity. So why not inventing solar chargers, so that, people can conserves our other electricity sources. And based on the articles that follow, related literature, using electrical chargers people should find an outlet to charge the electronic devices. And these can only be found in homes, schools and offices. On the other hand solar chargers can be charged anywhere. Users can charge them using solar energy that comes from the sun. We should implement it these days, so that we could conserve electricity for future use. The materials of solar chargers are a little bit expensive because only few people are buying it in the market. So it means that only few people are using solar chargers. And only few people are conserving electricity.
Review of Related Literature According to M.S Rochell (Ezine articles, n.d.), for a generation of people who are constantly on the move, solar powered battery charger offers the convenience of staying “powered up” even when electrical outlets are not readily available. She also mentioned that solar chargers are not too costly after the consumer having already bought one because the sunlight is free. Solar charger is also an eco-friendly device. In conformity with Jennifer Maughan (Life123, n.d.), the negative points of solar battery chargers are that it does take a much longer time to charge a battery in comparison to using a standard electricity point. It also requires bright sunlight, so it cannot be use in dark, night time and it is hard to use it in countries where there is little sunlight. Cloud cover will also affect the speed of the solar chargers.
And on the article written by James Robertson (National Geographic, n.d.), while many people consider the benefits to outweigh the costs, there are still some downsides to solar energy. Purifying the silicon for crystalline solar cells requires heat, which typically comes from burning fossil fuels. Toxic metals like lead, cadmium, and arsenic are used in solar cells and wiring.
Sulfur hexafluoride is used to clean reactors where the silicon is made. It is an extremely potent greenhouse gas (one ton is equivalent to 25,000 tons of carbon dioxide), and it can break down into sulfur dioxide, which can cause acid rain. Silane gas, used to grow silicon crystals, is extremely explosive. Silicon tetrachloride, produced as a waste of the same process, reacts violently with water, can contaminate soil, and causes skin burns and eye and lung irritation.
Recycling and control systems exist for most of these problems in countries with strong environmental and worker protection laws. These gases can be a problem in countries, like China, that have less protective policies.
Rechargeable batteries can contain toxic cadmium, lead, and lithium. However, battery recycling programs are widespread, helping to keep toxic chemicals out of landfills.
Plastics used in casings can contain the same toxins as other electronics, including the use of flame retardants that contain endocrine disruptors. For more information, see our e-waste article.

Solar Power Mobile Charger

...hassle-free, noise-free and portable Solar powered charger which could be used to charge mobile phones and will be as efficient as an ordinary wall phone changer. Solar energy has been proven to be a good alternative source of energy by many and has been an eco-friendly energy source. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY Mobile phones are currently the most popular form of gadget and wireless communication in almost every part of the world. In estimation by the International Telecommunication Union, there are over 6.8 billion cellphone users and the number is still growing fast as technology gets better, innovative and the cost of production gets higher for branded phones, while lower for those non-branded phones. According to G. Chiang and S. Bajaj (2011), the average lifetime of a cellphone battery is only around 8-12 hours with moderate usage. This has become very inconvenient for those people who are constantly on the road or preoccupied with work. A person has to bring a wall phone charger and look for a power source or outlet in order to charge. Meanwhile, with the portable solar-powered phone charger, it is a device that only uses the rays of the sun of a minimum amount as energy source to be able to charge a mobile phone. Cellphones are then charged without the need to plug it into a power source. One of the advantages of using a solar-powered phone charger is its efficiency, non-hassle portability. You won’t need a wall phone charger to be able to charge your mobile...

...CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION Background of the study Wind is the most economical and safest means of energy generation. Wind can supply energy without emitting harmful substances and chemical compounds that contribute to the rampant acceleration of the destruction of our environment that lead to global warming. Furthermore, wind power is the best option other than any other means of electricity generations such as fossil fuels and other harmful energy resources which cause damage not only danger to the human health but as well as to the environment. The multiplication of the usage of wind energy as a power source for electricity is worldly outgrowing. An estimation of 45,000 megawatts were installed in 2012 and ten percent increase in installation was recorded, a large difference if we compare the data gathered in 2011 and in 2012. The unbalanced heating of the atmosphere due to the sun’s energy results to the formation of winds, the untypical surface and the rotation of the earth around the sun causes winds. Wind directions are interrupted by the mountainous structure of the earth, its hydrologic state and its land plains. When winds pass turbines, it can generate electricity. From kinetic energy, wind propellers...

The reason is that these are the most common types of batteries used by the majority of devices in the market today. One last bit of information to consider when deciding on a solar panel backpack is the battery packs capacity. For the typical smart phone such as an iPhone the capacity of its battery is 1,400 mAh. Ideally you would want to choose a battery pack that is at minimum 2,000 mAh. Most beginners would think that if their device has a 1,400 mAh battery than that is the capacity of battery pack they need to fully charge their device. This is completely false. You need to consider that for example an iPhone even at idle is still using up battery life for tasks such as incoming sms messages or radio signals. If you would want to fully...

Solar Power as Away of Providing Heat and Electrical Energy from Heat

...Solar power as away of providing heat and electrical energy from heat The Sun the heat of the sun is about equivalent to burning a billion trillion tons of coal an hour. Even though only a small fraction of that heat ever reaches the earth it is still more then enough to power the whole world. People seemed to realize the importance of the sun around 30,000 BC. This was when people first started planting crops of wheat. They realized plants did better when planted in the sun over the shade. This caused them to worship the sun as a God. Many cultures built large and extravagant temples to worship the sun in. Other cultures built places to observe the sun in, such as Stonehenge in England. Different Types of Solar Panels There are three main types of solar panels. They are flat plate collectors, focusing collectors, and solar cells. The first kind is a flat plate collector. Flat plate collectors are fastened on the top of the roof of a house. They usually either heat the house or its water. A flat plate collector consists of a black rectangular frame, two or three sheets of glass, and copper plumbing. A flat plat collector uses the greenhouse affect. The sun rays go through the glass but can’t get out through the glass. The sun rays heat the water-filled copper tubes. Then the water is used to heat the home or water. Another type of a solar panel is a focusing collector. They consist of a mirror or mirrors...
