Stellaris – It’s like Civilization, but in Space All hail Queen Tetran – Glorious leader of the Mireeshi! Feared for their warlike nature and technological prowess, the Mireeshi hope to find great success in their galactic conquest.
Most of my gaming consists of Strategy and world-building style games, such as Civilization or Minecraft. After a month of binge-playing Civ IV, I was ready for a change, so I was very excited when I discovered Stellaris. According to Steam, I have played 247 hours of Stellaris, and I can’t remember ever being board playing it. The game has great scope for imagination and creativity, while also allowing for strategic planning and growth.

You can also choose the number of other species in your galaxy and the number of habitable worlds, along with many other features.
You start out in your own little solar system, which you can explore and then branch out into other star systems. You can select technology to research and you can work on developing your planets within your own boarders. If you’re smart, you will develop colony ships as one of your first technology and will soon be able to colonize other star systems. You will discover new and interesting planets and both friendly and hostile species.
The game isn’t turn-based, so you don’t have to deal with some of the frustrations that you have in games like Civilization. The early game is probably my favorite. Discovering and exploring the galaxy is incredibly satisfying to me. There is also a multi-player option, so you can play with friends. The game can get a little grindy later in, but this is still one of my favorite grand strategy style
