Protesting has made a big impact over many generations. Protests have led to positive change, like the creation of human rights, which people deserve. People, who have the power of running countries, need a different way to know what their people want. In three separate articles, it is discussed how protesting got the attention of government. “Letter from a Birmingham jail”, “Pre-OCCUPIED”, and “Welcome to the Occupation” discuss three scenarios of protests that happened in the past. Some of these protests were bloody and long. For humanity to progress, they must find a better way to be heard and stop the bloodshed.

The article features Mr. Kalle Lasn is an old man who lives with his wife on a farm. That old man founded a magazine which was twenty- two years ago. This magazine gave the idea of occupying the Wall Street. Also, the magazine contained an article about lower New York that many police officers had messed in Zuccotti Park at one AM. The park later became a dangerous place for the Police Department. At night Mr. Lase checked his email and found a message from Mr. Micah White, Abdusters. The protesters were trying to protest the Wall Street in New York City. Their goal was to gain financial equality between rich people and poor people. They had hoped to achieve this through protesting. These protesters were driven by several financial problems. However, because of climactic factors they could not make it. The first issue was timing. The protest began in the winter, much too cold to stand outside. The methods that protesters used were camping out of the park, and held signs with the appropriate slogans. This is considered military style, but there was no bloodshed reported. (But this protest was unsuccessful) The protesters were allowed to go back and there were newly enforced prohibitions on tents. The Police had a strict watch on media to ensure it would not break the news. They knew if it got out to the public, that the issues would become bigger. But as Schwartz wrote, “As the national media seized on the Zuccotti Park story, the rest of the ninety-nine percent starting showing up.” This was good and bad.
