But are we overlooking the benefits when it comes to processing higher education? There are many reasons why people learn a foreign language: it can may help you obtain a career in the path of your choosing, increases chances of a promotion, and helps you connect and communicate with many people. However, these benefits tend to be realized after the early stages of one’s education journey. Moreover, a student’s overall interest in learning; in general dwindles over time. By the time a student reaches high school they tend to do the bare minimum to graduate, and that includes taking a foreign language. A student’s interest and attitude toward education greatly effects their success in school and/or life. “We need to get kids interest in learning, to show how it relates to life in the real world...they don’t see the significance …” (Wilson, R. 1988) even though Wilson’s statement is in regards to employment after graduating high school. The same can be applied to, learning a foreign language. Form experience, while in a conversation about learning languages; I often hear “Why are you learning that? You don’t need it right now. ...Time Management Gen/200 Foundations for general education and professional success. 3/15/2010 University Of Phoenix Instructor Name: One of the most difficult tasks that student face, that is often underestimated is time management. Time management is probably one of the most cherished skills we can have and something a student needs to maximize in order to be successful in their studies. Time is something that is always against students no matter what they do. Learning the skills to prioritize what is important and needed is valuable to a student’s success. As a college student, you are required to think in greater depth and complexity than ever before (Carter, Bishop, Kravits, 2007, p. 76). The first thing needed to do in order to mange your time appropriately is to break down the average day of a full time working student. This may include but not limited to work, school, relaxation, gym, family time, and unforeseen situations that may arise. It is always better to be over prepared than under prepared. As for most working students breaking down the average workday may help analyze and clarify the priorities in a given day. For most work may be the first priority and take up most of the day. ‘Effective Communication and Education with Patients Is Central to the Success of Patient's Recovery

...‘Effective communication and education with patients is central to the success of patient's recovery’ Discuss and analyse how the application of effective interpersonal communication skills and maintenance of therapeutic relationships with patients may enhance the role of the nurse in working collaboratively with the patient towards their personal recovery? A nurse- patient relationship is a key aspect of recovery (Castledine, G. 2004). The approach aims to support nurse-patient relationships by providing an empathetic, trusting and respectful engagement between the nurse and the patient, thus enabling them to feel satisfied and confident in the care they are receiving. Hildgard Pepleau (1988) developed a theory in which nurse-patient relationships were considered extremely important to nursing practise. She believed that relationships are thought to be based around the interactions between the nurse and the patient, as well as the discussion of the thoughts and feelings they were experiencing, enabling the patient to experience better health. When nurse-patient relationships are not developed, there cannot be patient and family satisfaction. It could also enable the patient to receive care that may not particularly be suited to their individual needs and preferences (Castledine, G. 2004). David Stonehouse (2011) states that conflict could easily arise when the patient doesn’t have a say in the care they are receiving, causing friction between themselves and the nurse...

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position. ANSWER With the development of science and technology made through out the human history, especially the past one hundred years or so, people these days are spending more time relying on technology to solve various types of problems. Does the ability of humans to think for themselves really deteriorate as they rely more and more on technology? Admittedly, the improvement of technology and its concomitant contribution to a more convenient daily life does to certain extent obviate the necessity of many traditional tasks, subtly affecting the humans’ ability of thinking. Nevertheless, as a whole effect in general, technology progress improves working efficiency and labor safety, and frees humans from low-level repeated physical work to high-level decision-making intellectual work. In addition, technology proposes brand-new problems as well which challenges the humans’ thinking ability to an even unexpected extent. It is true that in many situations, the requirement for thinking seems less demanding than before due to...

Claim: in Any Field—Business, Politics, Education, Government—Those in Power Should Step Down After Five Years. Reason: the Surest Path to Success for Any Enterprise Is Revitalization Through New Leadership.

...Is new leadership going to revitalize an organization, thus bringing success to it? Leadership to an organization is rudder to a ship, without too much emphasizing on the importance of leadership, I agree that those in power need to step down for better leadership when necessary. If leaders are making big mistakes, they need to step down anytime necessary. But if current leaders are leading their organizations to make significant progress, they need to stay in power for the sake of their organizations’ continuous progress. New leaders can bring new ideas, innovation and other important resources to their organizations, which are important for the success of organizations. By the 1980s, Haier Group had debt of over CNY ¥1.4 million and suffered from dilapidated infrastructure, poor management, and lack of quality control. The company was on the verge of bankruptcy. Zhangruimin, the saver of Haier Group, introduced the sense of quality to its members by smashing 76 faulty refrigerators in front of everybody. The company started turning around in late 1980s with Zhangruimin’s disciplined management. As an avid reader of western and Japanese business, he brought Haier into international competition after cooperating with Germany Liebherr Group. This has been one of the most told stories where a new innovative leader saves an almost bankrupted company. Under some extreme circumstances, those in power might need to step down before the end of their due time. Chairman...

Generation Essay

...leaders and individuals across the globe are looking towards our generation, Generation Y; to pull the world out of these troubled times. The key to our generation’s success in contributing positively to society is education. Education will guide these young individuals to success in monetary values and in contributions to humanity. People of the skilled labor force argue that the pressure of society on the young generation to obtain the highest level of educational achievement is hindering their growth. Many writers of numerous magazines and newspapers across the United States such as Kate Lorenz, a writer for CNN, argues that there has been countless individuals who have achieved success both monetarily and in humanity that had no degree at all. I shall not argue the belief of critics that guts and determination are equally as important as education; however, I intend to raise the awareness that education is the key to achieving success. Knowledge is essential to an individual; it is not only invaluable but it is also irreplaceable and will never hinder an individual in anything that he or she wishes to achieve. The question that arises most often during the discussion about the importance of education in society is: How much education is enough for the individuals of Generation Y to obtain success? At this time in United States, a person needs at least a Bachelor’s degree to be classified as a middle class citizen. College students face the obstacles of whether...

Success

...how the world works. Everyone achieves success by working for it. Success is a relative term that varies for everyone. Some might view success as fame and wealth, while others would say it’s all about happiness and love. However, whether it is being wealthy, famous, or happy nothing comes in packages; they have to be worked for. Education is the first pillar in being successful. It helps a person to think critically and analyse situation from different point of views. The second pillar to success is a successful career; this allows meeting new people and network with some of the brightest people. The last pillar of success is to be financially strong. Being financially strong helps a person be independent. In my opinion success is taking the right measures and working hard to achieve a high-level of education, a successful career, and being financially strong. Education is known as the key to success. The educated the person the more likely it is to be successful. Learning is power that at a different level than others. Education is not always about studying and reading books; it is taking your experience and applying what you have learned to live a more prosperous life. An article from Bloomberg called “Obama Tells Students That Hard Work in School Pays Off for Future Success” quotes Obama saying “Excelling, whether it’s in school or in life, isn’t mainly about being smarter than everybody else, that’s not really the secret to success. It’s about working harder than everybody...

Importance of Education

...Education “Education is a key to success.” It gives us knowledge of the world around us, while opening doors to brilliant career opportunities. Education builds confidence to make decisions, to face life, and to accept successes and failures. The best way to reach career success is to map out a strategy and set goals.  Education can be a source that could lead someone for a better future. Having seventeen or eighteen years of waking up early in the morning, doing home works and projects and staying late at night to study for exams is not an easy task to do. But, for you, what is success? For some, success is the accomplishment of the goal aimed by a person. But for me, success means that it is one way of proving to others that I have determination and patience with what I am doing. Also, it is telling to others that I am willing to do everything just to reach my goals. And how come education becomes the key to success? In today’s modern and competitive society, we cannot deny the fact that we must equip ourselves with plenty of knowledge, thoughts or ideas and skills in order for us to enhance God’s given talents for us. Also, through education, we can learn more and improve ourselves in whatever field we do have. Professionals like pharmacists, doctors, engineers and lawyers surely gave importance to their education. With proper training and knowledge, it is possible for them to perform their best in their careers and to be successful in their field of area. The characters and...

Educational Equity

...2016 Education is Not Only about Curriculum and Passing Exams Success is a personal story; so an old expression says, one’s success cannot be solely measured by other people’s success. In that case, it ceases to be success and becomes competition. This notion is extended in the education system and has adversely affected the mentality of students. How can education be more equitable for our students and our society? Students are one of those groups affected with the misguided theory that success is competition. Parents, guardians, and teachers are responsible for the further enhancements of this theory. It is true that the best student can only be selected by order of merit; and for every winner there is a loser. It is a fact that cannot be objected. However, what I dispute is notion that success is purely dependent on the classroom performance. Student success isn’t based off what they are being taught for their own gain of knowledge, but rather than just being taught to pass the exams and uphold good grades. Education can be more equitable to all students by realizing and accepting the fact that each student is different than another, understanding ones interest and talents, being more inclusive to students with all learning types and background, and by eliminating the letter grade system. Education may be the surest and easiest key to success but definitely not the only one. Moreover, with changing times, nothing is assured anymore. You can attain higher education and still...
