Dear Karen Humphrey Johnson,

I hope you are doing well and enjoying the nice weather.

My name is Patricia Gonzalez Ramirez, I am a criminal justice, undergraduate student at Umass Lowell. I am writing this email because I have received an unexpected suspension letter from the deans office. I understand the school has its rules and I respect that very much, but I believe that the school and its staff should give me an opportunity to demonstrate the student that my grades are not reflecting at this moment.

In the suspension email I have received the link to appeal my academic suspension, but I decided to contact you before starting the process. I have called different people from the school to get more information about this process but

Summary Of Lisa Bloom's Book 'Suspicion Nation'

...Suspension Nation Précis Lisa Bloom’s book, Suspicion Nation, provided insights to the story of the shooting of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida in 2012. In the book, the author analyzed the underlying cause of the tragedy and the unfair treatment of African Americans ever since the era of slavery. The author also adopted many evidences and experiments to prove her statement and support her argument, so that readers can sympathize the unfairly treated African Americans and pursue true racial equality that contain no racial biases. In the beginning, the author cited the example of sociology professor LePiere and his survey conducted in 1930s. The example proved that the surveys often contain answers conformed by the society instead of measurement of actual situation. Although people don't want to be called racist, they still show certain racial biases. Some social scientists creatively put...

Comparing The Outsiders Book And Movie

...Around 1981, Francis Ford Coppola received a letter from a librarian at Lone Star middle school. The text stated, “ We are all so impressed with the book, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, that a petition has been circulated asking that it be made into a movie. We have chosen you to send it to. In hopes that you might also see the possibilities of a movie, we have enclosed a copy of the book.” The written document was signed by 110 little signatures who were eager for Coppola to make a film. Since he couldn’t resist it, he decided to make one. Two years later, on March 25 The Outsiders was released. As any film director should, he tried to keep the movie close to the original novel by S.E Hinton. However, movies and books are two different ways...

Action Research Project

...Research Proposal Rhondalyn J. Cornett Grand Canyon University TCH-587 October 1, 2014 Abstract In this action research project the researcher talked to several teachers discussing the concerns they had in education. Most teachers cited discipline in the schools as the concern they most worry about in their classrooms. I researched several articles where schools have implemented School Wide Positives Behaviors intervention Supports (SPBIS) were put into place schools showed a decrease in discipline and an increase in academic achievement. In this action cycle we implemented the first intervention to see what significant data could be reviewed. Steps in Action Research Educators use action research just about every day they are working with students. The educator could be teaching a lesson or looking a class discipline you are using action research without realizing it. The steps in action research are: Identification of the problem area, Collection and organization of data, Interpretation of data, the action based on the data, and finally reflection (Ferrance, 2000). The first step in action research is to identify the problem. If there is a discipline problem in the classroom, the first question may be why? What is causing the inappropriate behavior? Is the problem something that the educator can help solve? When choosing where to begin in your research the educator will need to ask himself several questions. The questions should higher-order in nature. The questions...

Returning Student Consigier

...Creating a Returning Student Concierge position would be beneficial for Chattahoochee Technical College Angela C. Reisen SNHU HEA 520 Abstract Chattahoochee Technical College (CTC) would benefit from having a Returning Student Concierge in several different ways. A Returning Student Concierge “is the single-point of contact at a college or university who helps returning adult students navigate the application, enrollment, and registration processes and overcome barriers to college success” (Education, 2010). Through my research, the amount of material I found on this subject was limited, but what I did find has shown me this position is well needed at CTC. Being that I work with current students on a daily basis I feel this is what our college needs to keep our retention rate up for the returning population of our student body. After reading my point of view, I hope you will be persuaded to believe in the importance of this position as well. Personal Classroom Management

...teacher I want the best learning experience for each and every student in my Class. Unfortunately each student has control over themselves and how they choose to learn. I will assist my students in expanding their learning beyond what they presently know. I will also dress in an appropriate manner; I do not want my students to think I am their friend because I dress the way they do, I feel that is very inappropriate. To get respect I need to earn the respect. First Day Of School, Class Routine and Expectation of Students It is important to let my students know who I am and a little about myself. I will go over the classroom rules as well as the schools rules and what is expected of them. In the beginning students will be allowed to pick their own desk. Each desk will have a desk name plate and a sharpie will be passed around so they can place their names at the spot they have chosen to be their seat for the school year unless changes have to made by me throughout the school year. We will also wear nametags and play a few games to introduce ourselves and to get comfortable in our class with each other. I am not collecting pencils and etc. those things are to be kept inside of the children’s desk so they have access to what they need. The only things I will collect are baby wipes, paper towels, Ziploc bags and sharpies. In he classroom I will have large colored file folders labeled math, science, and etc. so the students can turn in their homework assignments...

...concepts must be present: Offer Acceptance, Intention to create legal relations, Consideration Offer-an offer is a communication of readiness to do something by offeror which, if followed by the unconditional acceptance of another party (offeree) would results in a contract. For example, if  TAM college promise 15% tuition fee discount to all her students who pay full tuition fee during registration, that amount to an offer and it is valid for a reasonable length of time before the offeror cancel it. Acceptance-There is no contract until the offer is accepted by the person to whom the offer is addressed ("the offeree") acceptance of an offer is unconditional agreement to all the terms and conditions of that offer.  Acceptance could be express orally, written or by conduct (performance) for instance, the offer by TAM College to give 15% discount on tuition would be deem to have been accepted if any student pay full school fee at the point of registration. It is important note that If the method of acceptance is not specified by the offeror, then the following rules may apply. Postal Rule – the contract is formed at the time of posting the letter of acceptance, even if the letter is lost in the post. Receipt Rule – When an acceptance is sent by fax, it is deemed to be valid when the message is received, even if the offeror does not in fact read the fax immediately.
