On Thursday, January 21, 2016, I, Officer B. McMillon, #135, of the Mansfield ISD Police Department was on assignment at Legacy High School located at 1263 N. Main in Mansfield, Texas 76063. At Approximately 2:15 p.m. I, was informed by AP Villegas, Rene H/M, d.o.b. 03/03//1973 of a physical altercation that had occurred outside of the 3rd floor AP’s office. The student’s was identified as Rosales, Jacquelyne H/F, d.o.b. 08/26/1997 and Herrera, Ivonne H/F,d.o.b. 12/19/2000. I viewed video footage from camera 5.182 at approximately 1:04 P.M. and observed the two subjects meeting up on the 3rd floor in the commons area and getting into what appeared to be a verbal altercation and then became physical. I observed Herrera punched Rosales first striking her in the face and they began fighting. …show more content…
Herrera stated that the altercation started because Rosales was persistently telling Herrera that Herrera's ex-boyfriend and Rosales are friends. Herrera said that she and Rosales met up earlier that day in the restroom and talked about the issue. Herrera stated that she told Rosales that she didn’t care and to leave her alone about the issue. Herrera stated that every time they crossed paths in the hallway they had words about the issue.

I accompanied AP Ready, Zelmarian B/F, d.o.b 07/17/65 in her office while she spoke with Rosales. Rosales stated that Herrera was mad because her and Herrera ex-boyfriend are friends. Rosales also stated that she and Herrera ran into each other in the restroom and began to discuss the issue. Rosales said that this has been an ongoing situation all-day. Rosales said that she thought that she and Herrera had resolved the issued.

I recommend that this altercation be considered a fight, due to the fact that both students’ met up to have a verbal conversation that led to a physical altercation. Also this has been an ongoing situation

...HCA/230 ARE YOU A GOOD COMMUNICATOR How do you know if you have effective communication? To have effective communication you have to have an understanding of ones ideas. Another good way to know if you have effective communication is observations among people. Communication is a two way exchange that must involve both a presenter and a audience. It is important to have good quality interpersonal relations particularly in the health care industry because when you are in health care, you are talking to multiple people. When you are in health care, you are always interacting with other departments, nurses, office personal and patients. So it is important to make sure that your communication skills are very effective when you are talking to your fellow co-workers and patients. When you think about supportive relationships in the health care industry, one can say that it's something that we all can agree on or disagree on. This can be true from time to time. Self Competence

...Intra-and Interpersonal Competencies Written Assignment The main character in the case study, Sammy, showed inability in inter- and intrapersonal communication. He is facing various daily life problems including defining his self-value and identity, getting along with parents and managing personal emotions. The first problem is that Sammy failed to develop self concept (i.e. Who he is, what he wants to do) but blindly follows his parents’ opinion to persuade further study in college. Based on Identity Statuses Theory, Sammy is experiencing identity diffusion (Marcia,1966) in which he failed to attain commitment (occupational belief) and crisis (actively exploring and making conscious decision to understand his own identity). Besides, he has low self-esteem (i.e. the value he placed on himself) as he consider his classmates are more competent in both sports and academic performance than he does. He feels inferior at school. In order to overcome Sammy’s identity crisis, he should try to explore his own identity by constantly questioning himself about his own value, beliefs and academic pursuit to clarify his occupational and social roles. He can join various extra-curricular activities such as sports and music to discover his inborn talent. He might not be good at sports but he might be good at music or arts and crafts. To boost self-esteem, he needs to gain approval from peers to develop sense of belongingness. He could join more class activities and be generous (e.g. share...

Another reason being what is this law really trying to protect children against? Just because they do not see it on television does not mean bad things still won’t happen. By passing this law you are encouraging the adult in change to let them watch more television because they know what’s being showed during those hours. How will that help the future of America deal with interpersonal communication skills if they are always in front of a television instead of a book? How will they learn skills they need to survive?
