1.Abstract:
A fictional character is a character who doesn't exist in the real world. This term paper is about how these characters can inspire us. In this term paper we are going to discuss about what is fictional character and how these characters can inspire us. The title of this term paper is giving us a overall message about how the fictional characters can change our life. So, we think that this term paper will help people to be inspired from fictional characters.

2.Introduction:
It is difficult to imagine our world without the impact of inspiration from famous fictional characters. To become a better person these fictional characters have played a vital role. Human characteristics develop from knowledge and by imitating from these fictional character one can acquire important characteristics in life. The birth of a fictional character is the imagination of its creator. We all are familiar with many fictional characters whose characteristics are admirable and also educational. These fictional characters give us an opportunity to get exciting experience without getting involved in those situations personally in reality. Through the ages fictional characters emerged to existence and fulfilled their destiny to give readers or viewers the chance to experience their emotions and situations. These fictional characters differ their popularity between different readers or viewers. From “Alice In Wonderland” to “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” every fictional character has its own story to tell, reading book or watching films make their story so believable that it may seem like living in their story. Meaningful fictional characters lasts long in our memories. Some fictional characters are so much interesting that a person can never forget them. Moreover, some fictional characters are so famous that they never vanish in time, they are referred as the classics. In the evolution of fictional character, two of the milestones are “Hamlet”, “Macbeth” by William Shakespeare. In Bangladesh, some of the most famous fictional characters are “Himu”, “Misir Ali”,” Tin Goyenda” and “MasudRana” and many more.
3.What is fictional characters?:
Fictional characters are the persons in a work of art such as novel, play, opera or movie. As it is madeup person or imaginary person who are not really or actually lived, it is called “fictional characters”. Thegoal of fiction writer is to create characters that are likeable and memorable. Also a successful fictionwriter knows how to develop characters by using description, dialogue, action and more. In the sametime, individuals who often read fiction appear to be better able to understand other people, emphasize with them and view the world from their perceptive. There are lots of characters and lots ofwriters around the world but famous fictional characters are those whose personality is reached people’s heartby their extraordinary role. Additionally, fictional characters expose our mind as well as turn our mindinto a new level of thinking. That is why famous fictional characters remain our mind forever. A fictional character can be a hero which creates a positive impression on readers mind or a villain which creates a negative impression on readers mind.

4.Evolvement of fictional characters:
All stories are about people, even when they're about rabbits. And the stories that move us most, the ones that stick inside years later, are those inhabited by characters we can connect with and admire and no characters resonate more than those who in the course of a story learned how to transcend their own flaws and weaknesses to do something great—this is known as a Character Arc and by great I don’t mean saving the world, for often the quietest moments are the ones in which characters find their greatness. The moments that truly define us are almost always personal, times when we’re able to overcome our own limitations and rise to be something more. Character Arc—the rocky path of personal growth and development a character undergoes in a story, usually unwillingly, during which the character wrestles with and eventually overcomes some or all of a serious emotional fear, limitation, block or wound.
In a character's development he or she might overcome: o lack of courage or inner doubts o lack of ethics o learning to love o guilt o trauma from the past o errors in thinking, etc.
Weaknesses, imperfections, quirks and vices make a character more real & appealing. They humanize a character. The audience can identify with them. Flaws and imperfections give a character somewhere to go and progress toward in the story. The development of a character is only interesting if they overcome something.

5.Heroes:
A hero (masculine) or heroine (feminine) (Ancient Greek: ἥρως, hḗrōs) refers to characters who, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, display courage and/or the will for self-sacrifice—that is, heroism—for somegreater good of all humanity. This definition originally referred to martial courage or excellence but extended to more generalmoral excellence.
Stories of heroism may serve as moral examples. In classical antiquity, cults that venerated deified heroes such as Heracles,Perseus, and Achilles played an important role in Ancient Greek religion. Politicians, ancient and modern, have employed hero worship for their own apotheosis (i.e., cult of personality). Stories of the anti-hero also play a major role in Greek mythology and much of literature. The anti-hero is a protagonist whose qualities are the last expected from a person in certain situations; an anti-hero often lacks the typical characteristics of heroism, such as honor, nobility, bravery, compassion, and fortitude. The favorite type of anti-hero is a characterless individual.

6.Villains:
A villain (also known in film and literature as the "antagonist," "baddie", "bad guy", "heavy" or "black hat") is an "evil" character in a story, whether a historical narrative or, especially, a work of fiction. The villain usually is the antagonist (though can be the protagonist), the character who tends to have a negative effect on other characters. A female villain is occasionally called a villainess (often to differentiate her from a male villain). Random House Unabridged Dictionary defines villain as "a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime; scoundrel; or a character in a play, novel, or the like, who constitutes an important evil agency in the plot".

7.Positive Impression:
People who are very close with fictional medias like books, movies etc. are really effected by the characters. These famous characters leave some effect in our mind. After reading a story people change their own behavior and thoughts to match that of the character. Some characters leave some positive impact on mind. As we see that in the character of a hero, there are many good things. These things touches a reader's mind. So the reader tries to behave like a hero. It gives the space to grow up some good qualities like honesty, kindness, truthfulness, helpful etc. Generally the children are emotionally effected by fictional characters. They love to change themselves into a hero. This way they can develop a firm character.

8.Negative Impression:
The current study investigated whether fictional experience change empathy of the reader based on transportation theory. It shows when people read fiction they are being emotionally transported into the story. they become more empathic. High transportation led to higher empathy among fiction readers. This effects were not found for people in the control of condition where people read non-fiction. They have some negative effects for viewers or readers of fictional characters. As we know after reading a story people try to catch up some qualities of characters. Some people are influenced by bad qualities of characters. Some people are influenced by villains and his works especially the young generation. They try to do that type of works in real life. Sometimes it may become the cause of major crime.

9.Differentiate characters by age:
It is not possible for any writer to write a novel which give enjoyment to all aged people equally. So it is known to all writer that which types of people like what types of fictional characters. Also youngsters hardly like those types of characters that do not match with our real world. As a result, they prefer those characters which feel them to think logically, horribly and enjoy actions. Also they try to find those fictional characters that give them new ideas. There are lots of fictional characters such as iron man, Sherlokhomes, Captain America and so on. On the other hand, children always like those characters which change the world by their super power like a hero such as superman, Spiderman, batman, Hercules or take children in a magical world like harry potter. In terms of older people, they want to read those characters which remind their past life or feel them the happiness in everywhere. So age is differentiated the characters significantly and every characters are not made for every aged people.

10.Conclusion:
It is clear that there are two types of characters, heroes and villains. There are also superheroes who have super powers. So, there are many ways that a fictional character can be defined. So, we shouldn't follow every character. Because not every character has good qualities. Some character are not inspirable. So, I think the reader of this term paper can figure out a way to distinguish between good and bad characters so that we can decide whom we should follow.

Sokratova Etika

MEĐUNARODNI SIMPOZIJ PALIJATIVNE SKRBI SLAVONSKI BROD TRAVANJ, 2015.g. Mravni Ctnosti

...1 MRAVNÍ CTNOSTI – ETICKÉ 3.1 PŮVOD MRAVNÍCH CTNOSTÍ Mravní i rozumové ctnosti mají svůj původ. Aristoteles uvádí: „Je-li dvojí ctnost, jedna rozumová a druhá mravní, má ctnost rozumová vznik a růst většinou z učení, proto potřebujeme zkušenosti a času, kdežto ctnost mravní (étniké) vzniká ze zvyku, odkud obdržela i jméno, které se jen málo odlišuje od slova ‚zvyk‘ (ethos).“ Etická zdatnost tedy vzniká ze zvyku. Nelze získat učením anebo cvičením a není ani vrozená. Etická zdatnost si zachovává svůj počátek a učí nás správně smýšlet a konat.
