COMING INTO LANGUAGE

In a way the article made me feel inspired. When I say inspired I mean, Baca going from a boy not knowing how to read and dropping out of school in the ninth grade, and also thinking reading was a waste of time. To teach himself the Chicano language (the language of his people) and becoming a bilingual man all while serving time in a prison cell for a crime he did not even commit. Also all of the different obstacles he had to go through while in prison for wanting to gain a higher education and achieve his G.E.D. Going from basically being illiterate to a self-taught writer and poet is a very inspirational story, and can probably be turned into an admirable movie.
