Although many kids hate chores because they're so boring there are many advantages like they don't know they have learning skills in doing chores and many disadvantages like free time for there personal life. Personally I think kids should have chores.

For instance chores can help for latter life skills. Cooking skills for if you have teenagers. Cleaning just in case you have family over also to help take care of your house there are many reasons.

Also another thing is it helps kids focus more because now they know the stuff they learn when there kids reflects on their future. So maybe they will start doing extracurricular activities. Instead of getting in trouble or some kids are pros at procrastination and

...problem but that is for another letter. I want to escape, but I can't help feeling guilty if I do. One, the parent people will be pissed, the house will be lost and the kids will probably end up in foster care (tom's words) or with my parents. All of which I am ok with this until people start asking how long will that last. Do I want to be gone for a year, a month, or a week? Truth is I don't want to go, but I can not live like this anymore. I feel as though you have already checked out of this relationship. But for some reason just won't either admit it to yourself (and leave) or work to change it. If you really want this to work then you need to step it up, because I need you as much as you need me. And not just financially, we need each other emotionally, and mentally. I am just so tired of fighting with you, I'm tired of the house, the kids, the responsibility, the thinking, the cleaning, the dog, the planning, and paying the bills. I fell as though I am the only one who does anything and who thinks about everything. I can't do it all. There has got to be some major changes to the way things work around here if we are both to stay. I have tried so many times to get you involved in everything the kids and I do, from going out to cleaning the house, to just sitting down and watching a movie. I hate...

School Should Start Later

...yes, school should start earlier because research shows that students are finding that theres not enough time for them to do homework. theres more time for after school activities and afternoon jobs. most parent's jobs start then so they have no time for their children. if school starts early, theres more time for family time! Why We Need More Sleep Don't you hate waking up early in the morning? Almost every weekday, high school students are waking up around six o'clock in the morning to get ready for school, some even earlier. It's not practical for high school classes to start at 7:44. It's just too early for teenage minds to function properly. Our school should start at least an hour later than that. With the extra hour, our attendance would improve, as well as our grades and attitudes. The facts are all there, so why shouldn't the hours change? On average in today’s society most teens don’t like going to school that early in the morning. To have to wake up so early when they only get about seven hours of sleep, to have students be coming into school at 7:30AM or maybe even earlier in some other schools, is not right. Students need to have time at night to get work done, not only schoolwork but also non-schoolwork. Needless to say, the school schedule for high school students needs to be changed and be made where they go in later. That way they get their work done and get enough sleep because without much sleep students will not be getting high grades. A health survey that...

What Does History Mean To Me Essay

...History, will always repeat itself. No matter how hard we study it, how hard we observe it, the same things will always happen, Why is that? Because we are the most magnificent creatures in the universe. We are humans. We are defined by our history and how it repeats in our lives. As for me, my history follows a twisting and winding timeline that leaves many cliffhangers and loose ends. No part of my existence has been the standard apple pie, as-seen-on-tv type of life. There were no sunday barbecues and get-togethers with neighbors. The Braley household was more complex behind our front door and bolted windows. Happy stories were a fantasy I wished to live, but that’s alright, because it is these things that define me. My history and how it repeats/repeated itself through my life is what makes me, me. Me, I am worrying person, I am full of anxiety. I am called smart by others, although I believe I merely meet sub-par. I am self-conscious, and very emotional. I am too nice to people, and I trust too much. I get my hopes up too often, and I allow people to walk all over me. I am a perfectionist, and I stay up too late for assignments. I’m versatile, and athletic, silly and a little annoying....

...great distress; in Perry's case it was both. Although anorexia is a disorder most often associated with girls, Perry was the third in a line of anorexic boys I had recently seen. When he came to see me, Perry's weight had dropped to within ten pounds of the threshold requiring forced hospitalization, yet he denied there was any problem. "He just won't eat," his mother began. Then, turning to Perry as if to show me the routine they'd been enacting, she asked with tears in her eyes, "Perry, why can't you at least have a simple dinner with us?" Perry refused to eat with his family, always claiming he wasn't hungry at the time and that he preferred to eat later in his room. Except that that rarely happened. New menus, gentle encouragement, veiled threats, nagging, and outright bribes had all been tried, to no avail. Why would an otherwise healthy fifteen-year-old boy be starving himself? The question hung urgently in the air as we all talked. Let's be clear from the outset: Perry was a smart, good kid: shy, unassuming, and generally unlikely to cause trouble. He was getting straight A's in a challenging and competitive public school honors curriculum that spring. And he later told me that he hadn't gotten a B on his report card since fourth grade. In some ways he was every parent's dream child. But beneath his academic success, Perry faced a world of troubles, and while he took awhile to get to know, eventually the problems came pouring out. The problems weren't what I'd expected...

...really his mission. What if I told you republicans doesn't automatically mean Christian and just because you call some people blind doesn't automatically give you vision. I mean if religion is so great why has it started so many wars? Why does it build huge churches but fails to feed the poor? Tells single moms God doesn’t love them if they’ve ever ha a divorce. But in the Old Testament God actually calls religious people whores. Religion might preach grace but another thing they practice is to ridicule Gods people, they did it to John the Baptist they can’t fix their problems and so they just mask it not realizing religion is like spraying perfume on a casket. See the problem with religion is that it never gets to the core it’s just behavior modification like a long list of chores like let's dress up the outside so it can look nice and clean but it’s funny that’s what the used to do with mummies while corpses rot underneath. I am not judging I’m just saying quite putting on a fake look. Cause there is a problem if people only know your Christian by your Facebook. I mean in every other aspect of life you know that logics is unworthy It’s like saying you play for the Lakers just because you bought a Jersey. See this was me too but no one seemed to be on to me, acting like a church kid while addicted to pornography. See on Sunday I go to church but Saturday getting faded acting as if I was created just to have sex and get wasted. See I spent my whole life building this façade neatness...

The Fire Next Time/My Dungeon Shook

...following his father’s footsteps. He numbered the reasons why the white men have such closed perspective about inter racial relations and insists that it’s the Negros who must accept them and accept them with love because they are just confused and do not understand. He believes that the white men are innocent people with no hope, trapped in lies. He thinks they are like younger brothers to African Americans and therefore they shall force them to see themselves as they are. I am amazed of the way of thinking of this man. Instead of inciting fighting or protesting, which are in their every right after all African American people had been through, he rather put himself in the white men position. He has an almost Jesus Christ philosophy of love and acceptance and sees the white men as lost young brothers of the Negros and has the urge to guide them back the right path. He also points that African American are almost as guilty as the white men for following the standards they put them and live the lives that they set them to. Pretty amazing if you ask me. I think I would have never led myself to this ways. It’s easy to blame others especially if they took you by force from your home, enslaved you, and have been hundreds of years demeaning you. But, what have you done? Life is full of these stereotypes and I am not saying it is okay to stereotype, but most of the time they are true. They are true because we made them true. We hate when people judge but every time we get the opportunity...

...meanest-looking Rottweiler he had ever seen. But, just as she had said, the dog just lay there on the carpet, watching the repairman go about his work.  The parrot, however, drove him nuts the whole time with his incessant yelling and name calling. Finally, the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up, you stupid, ugly bird!” To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Spike!” That’s what happens to people who do not follow instructions. Following instructions is simply discipline in action. Discipline is inevitable. We either discipline ourselves, or life brings other people to do it for us. Don’t you hate those awful pink fences that line up the major streets in our Metropolis? Fences to keep people from jaywalking, fences to keep vehicles in their proper places, fences to keep buses from wandering and the question is why are those ugly fences there in the first place? Because motorists and pedestrians do not want to follow instructions and so somebody has to do something to force us to follow. Fences enclose. Fences restrict freedom. But the irony behind those fences is that they were put there because of a lot of people’s insistence to do what they want rather than obeying orders and following instructions. Now there is...

Guatemala Mission Trip

... We went to be the hands and feet of Christ while we were there, and I think we did his work well. We finished digging the holes for the foundation, which were about six feet deep, and we also began bending rebar so the foundation could withstand an earthquake. We were building the foundation for a two story school. We were building this school right next to the already built school. We met a lot of kids, and although we couldn’t completely understand them we still had a great time. The kids played soccer and frisbee with us, seeing the excited to play and go to school was different. Kids in America hate going to school, we loathe it. School is the enemy for kids in America. Watching these kids enjoy going to school and learning made me wonder why we were so indifferent to going to school. I am guessing the fact that we go to school from seven fifty-five to three O’clock. Kids in Guatemala go to school for a few hours, and leave right after they eat lunch. While we were there they would stay after school for a little bit, until they needed to get home and do chores. These kids that are in kindergarten to around sixth grade, work harder than I ever had too. I remember this little girl named Wendy and she would not only watch her little sister and take care of her goats. Now some people might expect that from a younger teen adult, but now she is around six years old. The reason I remember Wendy so well is because she asked my mom to hold her goat while she went and played. She...

You Are What You Eat

...ENGL 111-A Essay 5 – Persuasion You Are What You Eat Did you know that there are twenty-one ingredients in that box of macaroni and cheese you are feeding your children? What is sodium tripolyphosphate? Can you pronounce it? Think about it, do you really know what you are feeding your children every day? Unfortunately, most of us do not. We all want to feed our families wholesome, nutritious meals, but in today’s busy world it seems almost impossible. Our grocery stores shelves are filled with food that is full of chemicals, pesticides, and refined sugars, but do not have much nutritional value. As a society we have got to start making smarter food choices. Obesity and diabetes have become an epidemic in this country due to the lack of proper nutrition. As working mothers, we have to get food on the table fast. Often, we have very little money to do it with so we buy what we can afford. This often means we end up feeding our family packaged and processed foods. Our children and our families are seeing the consequences of this in their health and weight. We need to stop thinking that it is too hard and too expensive to eat well, and get creative and persistent with teaching our children health eating habits while they are young. One half of school age children who are currently obese will still be obese when they become adults. (Serdula M. K.) Today, one out of every three Americans is considered to be obese. How To Get Grounded Essay

...to do isn’t it? Let’s be honest. You’re not the kid that can focus and be attentive without having a whole dumpster of coffee in your system. You’re also not the kid to choose to write a paper about a third world country that you’ve never even heard of instead of going to that concert. In this case, you need to follow specific steps to ensure that you make your parents life miserable. Steps that will get you grounded, if not, killed by your parents. Start a pattern If you’re going to get grounded, you need to get your parent’s attention. Start being a hooligan a day or two before so that you really get on your parent’s nerves. This pattern needs to be something that is not too crazy. The patterns will eventually get on your parent’s nerves and they will discipline you. This is the easiest way to get grounded but it does require some planning. Don’t worry we will eventually get to the crazy part later but for now, just do things like: → Annoying your siblings: This is quite easy. Hide their phone or any other valuable, mess up their closet, or hack their social media account. → Not doing your chores: Stop doing the dishes and throw a tantrum, show signs of not doing your homework or don’t do your laundry → Be late for school around three times in a row since three makes a pattern. Break the Television Set This is one of the harder ways to get grounded but it is the perfect way to ensure absolute hatred from your parents. Why would you do something like this? Because it’s fun...

Everyone Deserves Equality

...Everyone Deserves Equality James Crosslin Eth/125 April 14, 2013 Nick Embaye Equality in the United States is something that many people of different races, ethnic groups, genders, gays, lesbians and transgender people have been striving to obtain for decades. Although this country has made great strides in equality, much more needs to be done, everyone on planet Earth deserves to be treated equally. Women in the United States were once believed best suited to remain at home, and take care of the children and household chores. Women felt obligated to marry, have as many children as their husbands dictated, have dinner on the stove, and the house cleaned when the husband came home, the old adage, “barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen” was the mindset. Now women are encouraged to work outside the home, economics being the main drive. Yet even with all the strides women have made in the last few decades, there is still discrimination and prejudice against women in the work place, they aren’t promoted as quickly as men if promoted at all (Herminia Ibarra, 2010), pay is lower than men working in the same positions (Fairchild, 2013), sexual harassment is common place. Men don’t believe women are as capable as themselves in performing the jobs that require mental or physical labor, but we know this not to be the case at all. Women are just as able to perform jobs that men are capable of, yet they are placed in subservient roles or in positions that make them “eye...
