Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) is one of the nomenclature in the implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Program (BEP) composed of four components namely: Agri-Fishery Arts, Home Economics, Industrial Arts and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). In this module, the focus is on an ICT mini-course – Computer Hardware Servicing.

Now that the workforce is behind in equating the number of available jobs, the Department of Education is revitalizing its resources to prepare the young minds by honing their skills as future hardware service providers. Thus, this module seeks to provide students with the knowledge, skills and motivation in the field of hardware servicing.

In this course, you will be introduced to different learning activities preparing you to be skillful before you take the plunge into the world of work as a hardware service provider and to feel more confident while providing support where needed. Indeed, as learners of hardware servicing, you are a crucial link in the emergency response process. Ideally, everyone should know what to do in an emergency situation, but proper training can help an individual provide basic care.
This module is specifically crafted to focus on Process and Delivery enriched with hands- on activities that will assess your level in terms of skills and knowledge. Learning procedures are divided into different sections such as: What to Know, What to Process, What to Reflect and Understand and What to Transfer. Examine and perform the suggested tasks to practice developing a sustainable program, prioritizing needs and building vision.
So, explore and experience the K to 12 TLE modules and be a step closer to being a computer hardware service provider.

...Cognitive Style Cognitive style is used to describe the way individuals come to a decision to accomplish the work based on their thoughts draw from their observation. On a given class of situation, an individual will choose their preferred way of gathering, processing and evaluating information (Hayes & Allinson 1998). The style is a better predictor of “job behaviour than intelligence” (Sadler-Smith & Badger 1998, p. 248), as it is not measurable in term of aptitude of handling. Although online learning has many advantages for some students, it can also lead to some difficult challenges. In order for one to understand learning, one must also understand behavior. Theorists use classical and instrumental conditioning to explain the changes in behavior. Learning and cognition are intertwined and both need to be present to understand learning. With a proper understanding of behavior and cognition, one can understand learning. Learning is most commonly defined as gaining knowledge, comprehension, or mastery through experience or study (Olson & Hergenhahn, 2009). However, psychologists prefer a different definition. In psychology, learning is defined as the “relatively permanent change in behavior that is brought about by experience” (McGraw Hill, 2011, p. 112). This change in behavior cannot occur because of illness, injury, maturation, or chemical substances. Psychology is a behavioral science; therefore an observable and measurable subject is required. In psychology, the subject studied is behavior. Researchers make inferences regarding the learning process based upon the observable behavior. Researchers study what is expressed through behavior, however, behavior may not always be from learning. B.F. ...Problem Learning Information The Testing Problem Adult learning theories aid in understanding and analyzing how adults learn, the problems they face, and how to make the process more effective. This issue holds great value for the academic audience because when understood properly, it can help teachers be more efficient in their teaching process and be further receptive and approachable to the requirements of the learners. One of the most widespread ways to assess learning is through testing, however, many theorists question the effectiveness of judging learning by testing because all the learners do is memorize the information and write it down. According to Mezirow, learning isn’t simply a memorization process but is a channel through which students can reflect on various worldly notions and experience some form of enlightenment in their sphere of comprehension (Mezirow, 3-24). Memorization significantly hinders learning as it is only the retention of information for a short period of time and not the actual understanding of it.
