I am not quite sure if my work place has a certain mission statement, but I know that we work to help kids with disabilities learn and adapt to everyday life. Its is a struggle everyday to gets certain kids to do their work but it is not an easy task. I think that the work we do at the middle school perfectly shows what our "mission" is. This week I went about my daily routine Except the fact that it was a shortened week for easter. On the thursday we had an end of the quarter/easter pizza celebration for the kids and staff. We also made easter baskets for all the teachers and students. That day all of the kids in class swam and it was a free

The Michigan State University brief School Climate and Learning noted, “The terms school culture and school climate describes the environment that affects the behavior of teachers and students. School culture reflects the shared ideas, assumptions, values, and beliefs that give an organization its identity and standard for expected behaviors. (Michigan State University, 2004, p.1). A school’s learning culture is shaped by various collective experiences, both successes and failures. The learning experiences of students are a reflection of the norms, practices and policies of the school developed as a result of such shared experiences. The following is a snapshot of a local middle school learning environment in Jacksonville, FL. Fletcher Middle School (FMS) has a long tradition of cooperation with surrounding schools, strong partnerships with local community stakeholders and benefits from a high level of parental support. Creating Your Strategic Plan Book

...Based on the colleges mission statement, the committee would decide on specific areas that are significant to the overall well-being of the organization and if the chose is feasible. For example, the Hoke County School Board Strategic Plan included building a school, because of the county’s population growth. There were no more options, it had to be built – it was a priority. In addition, it was feasible, not in the traditional aspect, but it was still feasible. As previously stated, since the strategic plan is a long-range plan, it cannot be as specific as short-term or operational planning, which is a working plan with particular annual objectives, however since the strategic plan is a working document, it is appropriate to revise the plan, once the committee understand that a specific element of the plan is not working for the over all goal. This initiative (e.g., revising and...

Vision Statement

...VISION STATEMENT Every school has its own story to tell. The context in which teaching and learning takes place influences the processes and procedures by which the school makes decisions around curriculum, instruction, and assessment. The context also impacts the way a school stays faithful to its vision. Many factors contribute to the overall narrative such as an identification of stakeholders, a description of stakeholder engagement, the trends and issues affecting the school, and the kinds of programs and services that a school implements to support student learning. The purpose of the Vision Statement is to provide schools with an opportunity to describe in narrative form the strengths and challenges it encounters. By doing so, the public and members of the school community will have a more complete picture of how the school perceives itself and the process of self-reflection for continuous improvement. This statement is structured for the school to reflect on how it provides teaching and learning on a day-to-day basis. Mission Statement:

...A Foundation 1 Analysis of a Foundation Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation By: Nonprofit Org. Management: PA 571 Professor: August 19,2012 The name of the organization I chose is Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation http://gatesfoundation.org/. Introduction Today’s recession has forced human service agencies and the government to become partners in order to serve the poor. Government funding and grants have decreased and the needs of the poor have increased. According to an 2010 Urban Institute study on nonprofits, the government depends on nonprofit human service agencies to serve the poor (Boris, 2010). Consequently, human service agencies depend on government funding and grants. A financial shift have caused human service agencies to lose funding or cause the agencies to operate waiting on late payment schedules from the government that result in many organizations having to close their doors to needy people. Well known human service agencies such as Chicago’s Jane Adams Hull House, YMCA, domestic violence shelters, childcare facilities, soup kitchens and organizations serving the youth population have stopped providing programs and services because they do not have the budget to pay for the programs. Although many nonprofit human service agencies are funded by the government, a human service organization must compete to get a piece of the dwindling funding pie for its human service programs. The key assumption of this paper is because of the unreliability of government...

Four Circles Model

...buzz word to embed itself deep into America’ lexicon. Accountability is used by parents, community members and other stakeholders as an instrument to raise expectations for schools and educators to an extremely high; sometimes unrealistic, levels of achievement. It has also become a weapon wielded by lawmakers and politicians at the state and national levels to levy punitive actions and sanctions to schools that are not meeting their levels of expectations; branding them with a “Scarlet F” if students are not scoring well on standardized tests. While high test scores, continuous improvement, student achievement and teacher/student accountability are things that all schools and district should strive for, there are certainly beneficial ways, as well as destructive means, to attaining such favorable results without harming the school’s most precious resource – students. Effective school administrators are constantly seeking opportunities to improve within their school and in each classroom. There are numerous tools and strategies that administrators and school leaders can implement that will aid in identifying obstacles and providing solutions to improve student success. One such tool is the Four Circles Model outlined by Charlotte Danielson. The Four Circles Model allows administrators and other school leaders to categorize information into four basic groups; or circles, as they embark on the improvement journey. The first circle, is entitled “What We Want” and is comprised...

The administrators must choose the curriculum carefully, taking into consideration the needs of teachers, students and parents. The teachers must help the students directly by implementing the curriculum and emotionally preparing the students. The administrators must give the essential tools to the teachers that are needed. Walmart’s customer base is pretty much made up of everyone. However, according to Brenden Gallagher’s article, there are types of people that frequent these stores. The first type is the wild animals, the loners one would say. They are the ones that you see in school but never wanted to talk or have any interaction with them. Then you have the shoplifting teens, these customers are there just to cause trouble, then you have the dads that don’t normally do the shopping, but have been asked to go get something. They are the ones lost, wondering around the store searching helplessly to find that one item that he has been asked to bring home. Next you have the drug users, the stoners. These customers are there because of the vast variety of muchies available to them at all hours of the night. There is also the bored elderly couples that are just there to walk around the store just to get them out of the house, the middle aged divorce that could only be there to either sulk or look for the next husband. Let’s hope it’s the sulking not the latter. Then of course, you have to have the town gossiper there to see what he/she can find to spread around town, because we all know this is where everyone goes! I know I can’t go to Wal-Mart without having to stop and talk to someone I know. Next comes the t-shirt junkies, these customers are...
