What is Art?

The question itself is like a mystery wrapped inside an enigma.

This very same topic has been on the minds of the mahachon party and also a topic for debate for centuries together.

Just what exactly is art?

What a question! Unveiling the mystery I would like to pen the most significant points mentioned by the prominent personalities, historians and also include my own perception of it.

It is a form of expression. It is beautiful, ugly, tasteful, distasteful, impressionistic, realistic....and a plethora

of adjectives and eloquence.

Art is everywhere. It lives in the soul, mind, and even the heart. Art is an outlet for people to express themselves.

Art is a way for the human mind to express itself. Even a loud, outgoing person has feelings that they do not feel comfortable sharing with people. These expressions often come out through their art.

What is classified as art? Besides the obvious…paintings, drawings, architecture, etc…Art can be dancing, singing, acting, etc. It can be pretty much anything that expresses an idea. Even something as common as speech is art. Everyone speaks with a different voice, and each voice is a piece of art. Art surrounds us. It is encountered so often that often we don’t realize art when we see it. All too often we ignore art. We overlook the ideas and thoughts behind it.

Anyone can look at a painting and say “Wow! That’s beautiful!” How many of us can actually stop and say “Wow! Now I understand!” Art is around to teach us. We can learn so much about ourselves and the world around us.

Many times we create art without a conscious reason. We believe that we are just making a pretty picture. Usually we are expressing a subconscious idea. If take the time to actually analyze and critique our artwork we could possibly find out something about ourselves. Often, we use art to...

Effective Business Communication Through Theatre Technique

...MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE, GURGAON Effective Business Communication through Theatre Technique Core Faculty: Ashok Kapoor Course Outline Introduction Theatre is not merely a metaphor for workplace: it already exists in daily life, and workplace is just its extension. Individually and collectively, within and without, people are in a dynamic and dramatic relationship that is now planned or rehearsed and now improvised. The Corporate is engaged in an ongoing drama that is being played on the larger stage of society. In their book, ‘Dramatic Success’, (Nicholas Brealey Publishing, 2004), authors Andrew Leigh and Michael Maynard reiterate that Corporate is Theatre. They have looked at ‘Self’, ‘Team’ and ‘Organisation’ as the three acts of a play. The dramatic scenario in Self consists of ‘Connection’, ‘Talent’ and ‘Power’; in Team of ‘Alignment’, ‘Creativity’ and ‘Exploration’; and in Organisation as ‘Insight’, ‘Inspiration’ and ‘Initiative’. The key to being an effective player in corporate processes is to learn to observe, sense and listen to the unfolding drama at workplace. Theatre techniques prepare you to see yourself objectively in a dynamic situation, and thereby help you to realise responsibility and strategise communication. They aim to help the student transform and become an inspired performer, an effective team player and a leader. The theoretical model of the Communication Process – comprising ‘coding’, ‘decoding’, ‘feedback’, etc.-......

Effective Communications

...Effective Communications Paper Your Name Course # Date Instructor: Today’s growing businesses are often requiring employees to work in teams to meet project deadlines. Working in teams comes with many benefits, such as building employee relationships and knowledge sharing. Unfortunately, teamwork has its negative aspects, such as tension or anxiety, which almost always derives from poor communication. Effective communication within an organization often determines an organizations fate. This article gives an overview of effective communication through knowledge sharing, effective and ineffective techniques, using effective techniques in a health care environment, and technological impacts. Effective Knowledge Sharing Techniques Knowledge is often seen as a rich form of information. This differentiation, however, is not terribly helpful. A more useful definition of knowledge is that it is about know-how and know-why. A metaphor is that of a cake. An analysis of its molecular constituents is data – for most purposes not very useful – one may not even be able to tell it were a cake. A list of ingredients is information – more useful – an experienced cook could probably make the cake – the data has been given context. The recipe though would be knowledge – written knowledge - explicit knowledge – it tells how to make the cake. An inexperienced cook however, even with the recipe might not make a good cake. A person, though, with relevant knowledge,......

During the meetings every aspect of the job was discussed including areas that needed improvement, how to make the necessary improvements, and a brief period of discussion in which everyone was allowed to converse and share ideas and information with one another. I believe that this technique was ineffective because there was a small crew who did not work together and allowing only quarterly meetings in my eyes had a reverse effect. Communication was at a standstill as many of the employees did not feel as if their input had any value because they were not provided with other opportunities......

Effective communication is important to the staff and to the patients as well. Patients depend on the look to staff to help them understand or answer their questions regarding their medical care. This paper will review the techniques of effective and ineffective communication and the impact these techniques will present to any health care facility. There are many forms of communication in a health care organization that have been most effective for sharing information and ideas among employees. The first form of communication that is an effective is to have a daily meeting at the end of each workday. The meeting should be no shorter than five minutes and no longer than an hour. The purpose of the meeting is to let each employee talk and express his or her feelings or any problems that may have risen throughout the work day.
