Mis Initial Thesis

...Initial Paper MIS 770 My experience has not been too significant. Although I was an electronics technician in the Navy, that dealt with more of physical circuit boards and not the IT division. The Navy was first experience into anything secure for IT. On our ship we had an intranet that allowed for internet access, but provided for an email system that was only sent through our system and not the World Wide Web. When we needed to send an email out to the civilian world, the email system would take a little longer for people to receive our messages. A lot of security measures had to be taken place on our ship from the IT division so that ship safety was never in danger. After the Navy, I have never had any direct IT work detailing programs for businesses or security systems. I have used several programs that are IT related. Blackboard has been an amazing experience that I've used. Being allowed to submit assignments and chat with individuals in my class has made my life more convenient. I loved the aspect of taking exams and quizzes online as well. It allows for easy grading for the teacher and easy access for the student. Email has been an IT service that I have used for several years. Even in my high school days we had email. Email has been so revolutionary that physical mail literally almost needs to be non-existence. I receive my bills in an email; I receive my grades and several things in email from school. It is extremely efficient. Although......

It Strategies

...[pic] Blekinge Institute of Technology Ronneby-Sweden School of Management June 2005 Do organizations have IT Strategies? A Study on how organizations describe their IT Strategies. Masters Thesis in Business Administration (FED 006) Author Stephen Rupia Lyabandi Executive Summary Title: Do organizations have IT Strategies? A Study on how organizations describe their IT Strategies. Author: Stephen Rupia Lyabandi Tutor: Anders Hederstierna Problem: The research problem of this study is lack of insight on how organizations describe their IT strategies in relation to other strategies. IT strategy continues to be a major challenge for Information Technology intensive organizations and managers. Over the last two decades, the way researchers on information systems have viewed and analyzed IT strategy in organizational systems has not significantly been modified. Recent studies show that one of the main problems is that the concept of IT strategy has been around for nearly two decades and although many organizations have been using it, the meaning and reference of the idea remains elusive. Those who have attempted to define it have not reached an agreement. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to define the problem and explore whether......

Spanish vs. German Outline

...2013 I. Introduction A. (Hook) Hola! ¿Cómo está todas? Quiero decirte por qué alemán es mejor que español. [Hello, how is everyone? I want to tell you why German is better than Spanish] B. (Thesis, Need statement, Outline) To determine which language class to take at SHS, two factors must be considered: difficulty, which can further be broken down more into grammar, pronunciation, and similarity to English, and usefulness. II. Body C. The difficulty of a language varies from person to person (because no two people learn the exact same) and can depend upon grammar, pronunciation, and the similarity to one’s native language. 1. Grammar a. Cases – A case is defined by Merriam-Webster as an inflectional form of a noun, pronoun, or adjective indicating its grammatical relation to other words. i. German has 4 cases – the nominative, accusative, dative, and genitive. Definite articles and adjective endings change depending on each case. The nominative marks the subject, the accusative marks direct object, the dative marks the indirect object, and genitive shows ownership. ii. Spanish does not have cases, but it does show ownership similar to the way German does. In Spanish, one would say el coche de mi madre and in German one would say das Auto meiner Mutter. Both phrases literally translate to “the car of my mother” b. Gender Both German and Spanish have grammatical gender – that is......

Creativity Support Systems

...The aim of this Master’s thesis is to first outline the current state of research on Creativity Support Systems (CSS) and to then analyze their employment in innovative companies. Research on CSS is criticized for focusing too much on efficiency and productivity as evaluation criteria for CSS (Dennis et al. 2004)(Hewett et all 2005) Nakakoji 2005). Therefore the goal of this thesis is to examine the subjective motivation of the different stakeholders on CSS for the use or avoidance of computer-based creativity support systems. The thesis will elaborate the requirements of the different stakeholders regarding CSS and what they perceive as useful. The goal is to find appropriate evaluation criteria that represent the subjective needs of the stakeholder around css. This will be transformed into propositions for what factors have a major impact on the employment of CSS, which consequently need to be improved in order to fulfill the varying needs and requirements of the major stakeholders in creativity processes. Creativity is a highly complex process, with multiple dimensions, many domain- or industry-specific and user-specific characteristics (Hewett et all 2005). CST have different strengths and weaknesses in different milieus (number of users, industry domain, convergent/divergent phase). In order to get comparable results it is important to narrow down this multidimensional taxonomy and look at a specific section with comparable usecases. The thesis will focus on the......

John Dickson Book Critique

...page 5 SUMMARY Author John Dickson has written a book on a word that is often misunderstood and misused. In his book Humilitas: A Lost Key to Life, Love, AND Leadership, He takes a multi-dimensional look at the subject of humility. He is very aware that writing a book on this subject can give the appearance that he himself has been able to achieve the goal of being known as a humble person. However, the opposite is true, Dickson writes, “Humility stands alone among the virtues in that as soon as you think that you have, you probably don’t.” This statement shows that in no way he thinks that he has been able to achieve this lofty goal. Dickson means for this book to be a practical one and hopes to achieve his thesis statement in which he writes, “My thesis is simple: The most influential and inspiring people are often marked by humility.” With that in mind, he sets the reader on a chapter by chapter tour with such subjects as to why humility is important, how it fits in through the cultural history, leadership, common sense, persuasion, how it’s inspiring, how the ancient Greek world lacked it and ends with how it is possible to become more humble. Across these diverse subjects Dickson is able to show how humility plays such a huge part in the thinking of the world today. He in no uncertain terms attributes this to a life of Jesus Christ. He calls Jesus the Teacher from Nazareth and shows how He broke the mold in the ancient world that subscribed to an honor-shame......

Book Critique -- Paul, the Spirit, and the People of God

...Trinity in every way. Fee’s thesis is clearly stated very early in the book: “One reads Paul poorly,” he states, “who does not recognize that for him the presence of the Spirit, as an experienced and living reality, was the crucial matter of Christian life, from beginning to end.” Therefore, he feels that we must not merely recite creeds, but believe and experience the presence of God “in the person of the Spirit.” Fee offers considerable arguments abounding in scriptural references, and by his direct presentation and application of these many passages, exposes the reader to the preponderance of evidence concerning the Spirit in Paul’s Epistles. For the most part, Gordon Fee’s presentation in Paul, the Spirit, and the People of God was inspiring and theologically sound. To be sure, there is an abundance of objective scriptural analyses throughout the Christian heritage, but too often we find that these become an exercise coldly detached from the very God revealed in the Scriptures. Thesis of Fee’s exegesis, 3 however, is that we must know the Spirit “as a dynamically experienced reality,” and this issue serves as his real contribution to the subject. Additionally, his theology of the Trinity offers the insightful perspective of a presupposed experience of the Trinity. Finally, his call to know and experience God in a “vitally Trinitarian” way by the Spirit captures the very essence of Paul’s ministry and encapsulates the entire thesis of the book. Fee......
