My favorite cleaning products: always test inconspicuous area if not sure
Joy or Dawn dish soap: in the kitchen and for a great general-purpose water and soap cleaner

Dow Scrubbing Bubbles: this is by far the best tub and tile cleaner that I have ever used. I like the liquid kind and I usually spray it directly on my mesh sponge.

BarKeepers Friend scouring powder: Purchased in most grocery stores where you buy Comet and other related cleansers. Great for stainless steel sinks, removes rust, great for glass stovetops, removes hard water deposits from faucets, etc.

Cinch or Windex Clear Multi-Surface Cleaner: These products are clear and will not leave blue stains on grout or blue drip stains on carpets. Great for glass, mirrors, and just about any surface.

Pledge Clean and Dust: great dust grabber prevents static, great polish that does not build up, can even be used on TV’s and VCR’S, and has great smell.

Thunderblast: One of my favorites. Purchased in the automotive section at Dollar General - only ($2). This is the most powerful general purpose cleaner (like 409, but 14 times stronger). I use it on the grill, and for really grimy and greasy clean ups. Add a cup to your husband or son’s yucky work clothes. Follow instructions. Warning: This product is very strong and could cause surface damage to some items. I use gloves because it tends to make my skin rough just after use. Be sure and wipe cleaned surface with clean damp rag to remove any remaining cleaning product.

Mean Green Mildew Stain Destroyer: Purchased at Dollar General. Great for mildew on grout. I have not used a quicker or better product.

Cabinet Magic: purchased at William’s Hardware, Lowes, Home Depot. Comes in pump spray or aerosol. I like aerosol when I can find it. This is my favorite furniture polish. It is great on any wood, laminates, and painted surfaces. It cleans and restores the luster and shine to many surfaces. It also hides scratches and spider-web type scratches. If you have any Formica type wood surfaces, it does a fabulous job. Great for cabinets.

Meguiar’s Quik Detailer Mist & Wipe: found in the automotive section of Wal-Mart or in any automotive store. Though designed for detailing cars, it is great for detailing many things in your home, as well as your car. Can be used on most surfaces, including windows and mirrors. It is great for black pianos, guitar surfaces, shiny type surfaces, appliances, marble type countertops, faucets, etc. It has a great smell and just a great product.

Favorite Brand Paper

...Favorite Brand Paper 1 Favorite Brand Paper February 16, 2015 Favorite Brand Paper 2 In the field of marketing the most important factor is the value of a brand. A majority of the consumers today prefer a certain brand and want t stick to that brand indefinitely. This is the reason why every company tend to spend a large amount of their budget in marketing their product in order to build a relationship with the consumer which can stick to them for a long time. As far as my personal choice is concerned, I tend to buy a product based on the price, however one brand that I will not compromise on is Dawn dishwashing soap. In this paper, I will discuss three different reasons as to why I like the product Dawn. I will also discuss Dawn’s competitors and why they do not match up to the capabilities of Dawn. Dawn is a registered trademark of Proctor and Gamble. Dawn was created in 1973 since then it has become a household name in America and internationally. Dawn is not only a dishwashing soap but it also comes in dishwasher products too. Dawn also prides itself in the fact that it is good for use on animals and has helped conservation organizations for over 35 years. One of the reasons I love the brand Dawn is because of its ability to cut grease. The Dawn bleach alternative power soaking product is amazing in cleaning grease...

Why Bother Making Your Own Cleaning Products?

...Why bother making cleaning products, you may ask? For one thing, it’s a very inexpensive idea of using common items you probably already have in your pantry. These recipes are easy to assemble and make cleaning more pleasurable by not having to deal with harsh fumes and nasty chemicals. I just can't tolerate those old cleaners anymore. It’s amazing how really well they work. They are especially nice when you have little children who want to help Mommy clean and you can feel good knowing that they can squirt and scrub to their hearts content. The wonderful aromas from the essential oils are so nice and smell “natural” compared to the store kinds. Since I've discovered essential oils, chemically, artificial fragrances almost make me sick! It makes cleaning feel like having a “spa moment”! Buying the essential oils might seem a little costly at first, but a little goes a long way and they can be used in so many other ways in your home, as in treating illness and stress. “Soft Scrub” (this one is my all time favorite. My work horse; works great on my cruddy stove top, as well as cleaning the grime and soap scum in the tub and bathroom sink. Smells good enough to eat!) 1 2/3 c. baking soda ½ c. liquid soap (Dr. Bronner’s) ½ c. water 2 T. white vinegar Essential oil (optional) ~I like peppermint Stir soap into baking soda. Add water and stir until smooth. Add vinegar and essential oil and pour into squeeze bottle. Great for tub and bathroom sink. Whitening Scouring...

American Icon

...American Icon Cassandra Brown MKT/421 Marketing March 9, 2015 Heather Teague American Icon So many factors are in the making of marketing a product; however, the important factor is the value of the brand. Customers are faithful to one brand and will not normally abandon that brand. Knowing that is the reason why companies spend so much time and money on marketing their products. One of my favorite brands that I am faithful to is the American icon, the Oreo cookies. It is true that Oreo cookies are an American cultural icon and for that reason is why I am passionate about Oreo cookies, with a great customer loyalty and an abundant relationship with customers, and with a lack of competition of the Oreo cookies. Passion of an American Icon There are many reasons that I am passionate about Oreo cookies and to label each one would be hard since they all flow in to one. As a child one of my fondest memories was visiting with my grandmother who always had Oreo cookies in her pantry. Getting to have those deliciously sweet chocolate and crispy cookies with a sugary creamy filling as soon as I walked in the door, I knew the fun would begin. Sitting around the table with my family, with a glass of milk in front of each of us, each one would create a new way, a favorite way to eat those delicious cookies. She made eating Oreo cookies fun by reaching out to each of our creative sides. It was one thing that we all enjoyed, unlike vegetables. It was...

Case 1.2

... My first product is our home's Rainsoft system. This is a water purification system that we purchased for our home back in 2007. The Rainsoft is connected to our main water supply valve and installed in our garage. The purpose of the Rainsoft is to eleminate hard water. In essence, it treats the water for any chemicals or residues, takes out the chlorine and iron that resides in the county water, and leaves it soft, as well. Obtaining this unit gifted us wuth truly filtered water straight from the sink. It also takes away the hardness of the water, and this is especially good for our family, as it's easier on your skin and both of our children have eczema. As a personal consumer, my decision to buy this unit was strongly influenced salesman's marketing pitch. One of the most notable features was the unit's location - hidden away in our garage, unseen by all, and even mobile if we ever decided to move to a new house. The price also played a large role in our purchase. We just purchased the house, and the unit came with a discount for all new homebuyers. The second product would be our newly aquired Roku boxes. We purchased two boxes - one for our living room and one for our master bedroom. We wanted to cut down on bills. So, we dropped our ATT U-Verse cable account and started with the Roku boxes. This allows us to stream our wirelessinternet to these boxes and watch all of our shows. It is similar to the Apple Box. The Roku streams our favorite shows, with...

My Favorite Brand

...| My Favorite Brand | Target Stores | | Brandi Collins | 9/6/2015 | | My favorite brand is not just one brand, but a whole store. I love Target stores. With the fast and friendly service, clean and easy to maneuver through aisles, the stores are ideal for browsing and easy-going shopping. Although Target may be a little more expensive then its competitors, it is a better store to shop at because of the customer service and cleanliness. I love shopping at target for many different reasons, but there are three main reasons. I actually buy some of Target’s brand items and they are actually pretty good. The products have a long lasting life and are cheaper than name brands sold in the store. Their off brands consist of food, drink, cleaning and paper products, and even clothing. Another reason I love target so much is because the customer service is great. The team members are always available and willing to help you find something. They keep short lines to better serve the customer and the registers grade the cashier to help cut down wait time. I have oved Target since I was in high school and I worked there soon after. The employees have a meeting every day to share ideas on how to better serve customers. And the last reason I love Target is that it is very organized. The store is always in good shape and neat. Things are easy to find and it is easy to maneuver through. The store is not very crowded and is hardly ever over crowed with customers. Selling...

Tipping Point Reflection

...Tipping Point Hush Puppies, mavens, Sesame Street, and New York City crime rates; all things that seem to have nothing in common until you look at them in the right context. The one common denominator they all share is they had a tipping point, and are examples of how little things can make a big difference in society. Malcolm Gladwell recognizes this threshold in everyday life, and in the products we use. He sees that a sudden increase in the sales of a shoe can be triggered by only a selective few that decide to wear them while they were unpopular, or how cleaning up the subway system can generate a significant decrease in crime. A single person could make significant changes in society although they represent a very insignificant number in the total population. If that one person is responsible for a tipping point a chain reaction can be made out of a single decision. Tipping points are exactly what the phrase describes; a point where the threshold has been met, so it theoretically “tips.” This does not come due to chance however. Gladwell argues that there are certain aspects of a product, norm, or person that are required to exceed a threshold and cause a reaction, he states, “The three rules of the tipping point—the Law of the Few, the Stickiness Factor, and the Power of Context—offer a way of making sense of an epidemic. They provide us with direction for how to go about reaching a tipping point.” Gladwell’s examples and messages throughout his work resonate with the three...

Textiles, Apparel Selection and Design

...Clothing Stores that match my target market I am often asked, “Where do you shop?” My reply is always, everywhere! I shop different stores all the time. I shop a lot, but I also shop smart. Shopping smart is shopping on the clearance and sale racks first. Even at the most expensive stores you will be surprised at the bargains you will find shopping those racks first. I love to dress nice in good quality clothing. Not all stores sell good quality clothes, but whatever I buy from those stores I take extra precautions when cleaning them. My favorite stores are New York and Company, The limited, Marshall’s, Wal-Mart, Target, Dillard’s, JC Penny, TJ Maxx, and K Mart. Segment Your Market to Drive Growth Although the universe of all potential buyers may be your "market," dividing the market into sections or "segments" can help you generate more revenue. This segmentation can be based on any number of factors demographic or lifestyle factors. For example, you could segment your customers by age group. Or, you might divide them by family size. Different segments will have different needs and are likely to respond to different advertising or promotions. By thinking in terms of "what does this group of customers need," you can generate solutions that resonate with the target group. Most marketers know that "20 percent of buyers consume 80 percent of product volume." If you can identify that key 20 percent and find others like them, you can sell much more product with much less effort...

Internet E-Commerce

...improvement in Web 2.0 is the availability of interactions that was not available in Web 1.0. Users now can be in online communities and share information on the web. Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are the examples that come to my mind since they are so interactive. All three are free applications that users can communicate and share information with others. Web 3.0 is still in its early stages but is based on the idea that the internet actually understands the information and can make logical connections between information. The web will actually be able to take information from 2.0 and 3.0 from individual users and be able to get content that is relative to the user. The goal is for users to feel like they have a personal assistant that knows everything about the user and can access any information the user will need in an instant. Since Web 3.0 is still in the beginning stages there aren’t many examples of it yet; however, I believe that Apple’s Siri is a very good example of the beginnings of Web 3.0. Apple’s products offer the “personal assistant” Siri that users can ask questions like the weather and traffic information and the device looks it up on the spot. Siri also “remembers” the users’ habits like work and home address, contacts, and favorite shops and restaurants. Another example is Google. Google is already making hands free researching available by just talking to the device. They have already...

Marketing Product

...Principles of Marketing T/Thurs Chapter 6 Activities: 1. The three television commercials designed to persuade buyers to view the products being advertised as shopping items would have to be 1) Abercrombie & Fitch clothing line, 2) Samsung for their 3D LED TV, and 3) CoverGirl makeup. The similarities for all three of these commercials are to sell their product to the consumers, entice consumers to buy their product, and have the consumers feel as if they need the product. Also, I would have to say that all three commercials are clever, effectively marketed. Each of the TV commercials is less or a little more than 30 seconds which depends on how much the company willing to pay for their product’s exposure. Each commercial has a target market they want to reach and the success of the product depends on the consumers buying their product. The three brands throughout the years have shown brand loyalty and I believe that it is what keeps them so successful and current. I want to start off talking about Abercrombie & Fitch; they are never out of the limelight. I would have to say they are the most controversial successful retail company that continues to push the envelope when they run commercials or poster ads. I truly believe that there isn’t any bad publicity for this company “controversy sells.” The market demographics are tailored to the young teenagers who have the disposable income to spend their money or have a say where they want their parents to spend...

My father doesn’t like eating vegetables so he decided to get a juicer so he can drink fresh juice everyday. One day my father and I went to Costco to get a good juicer. There we saw one guy demonstrating the blender name Vita-mix. This blender can blend anything, which we put inside not like juicer which separate’s juice from fiber and those fibers have vitamins and minerals. In my culture we have to do fasting, and Vita-mix turned out to be just perfect for me because now I don’t have to starve or spend dollars at Jamba juice to buy smoothie.
